Small parking lot with bathroom 'facilities' on site (not porta potty's but a building). Facilities could use a bit more upkeep. The park is a battleground park with a walking trail that is about 2.5 miles long. The trail goes up and down hill and is mostly grass/mulch trailed.

It was a nice brisk walk for a fall day and offered some good views of the nearby hills. Would be great for a summer picnic and then a walk. Old school house building (I think it was) was a couple of brick walls left (interesting for folks who love ruins like that).

There is also a set of cannon's on the ridge to look at.

There is another house/s nearby that are fenced off...

Nice walk. Path is in mostly grass with some mulchy bits and some muddy bits. The area around the ruins is wide open grassy plain with a nice mowed trail. Farther in has some gentle hills. Dogs are supposed to be on leash and owners are supposed to clean up but some people do not follow the rules. The CBP facility next door is doing a bunch of construction so your hike may have a soundtrack. Had a good time and a good walk for my girl healing from her...

It was a working farm field and the trail was literally a mowed path. It was a bit confusing because the field was being harvested at the time for straw, so markers were hard to come by. Basically follow the tree line. Placards pointed out interests on battlefield movements. I'd say area is definitely a historical interest, but for a trail walk; head the other direction and hit up Bolivar Heights/ Lower Bolivar for more nature and...

Beautiful trail, some in the sun, some in the shade. A few hills, but nothing serious. 4/5 due to seeing the townhouses and homeland security buildings from the ridge. Still, worth a stop and walk...2.7 miles nicely maintained trail.

This battlefield is not as developed as the other Harper's Ferry area battlefields but it gives a great perspective of the Confederates strategy at the time.
