This museum is a great place to visit if you are in town. The staff is super friendly, and the quilts are beautiful.
There are two floors; both floors have quilts. There is a very cute and reasonably-priced gift shop on the first floor where I bought gifts for loved ones. Part of the first floor has a history of the building along with an old jail from back in the day. On the second floor, they also have antique sewing machines.
Unfortunately, they request you not to share photos of the quilts due to copyright reasons, but I have shared other photos of the museum. My partner is interested in textiles and quilting, and he loved this place. I would definitely recommend visiting...

Inside, we were greeted warmly and given an overview of what the exhibits were. There was a wide variety of styles, more traditional to more modern and experimental. It definitely had more of an art gallery vibe than a museum. The works we saw were all so impressive, you will want to allow time to look up close and admire the details.    Read moreIt was very impressive. I stopped in on my way out of Harrisonburg. I thought it would be a quick stop, but I ended up staying almost an hour. It is 3 floors of quilts, sewing machines, and other sewing/quilting antiques. Whether you are interested in vintage quilts from the 1850's, quilts created in the 1970-80s or recent quilts featuring themes of diversity and inclusions, this museum has all of these. It was a very nice museum displayed in a historic house. They ask you not to post photos of the quilts on social media, so here is a wall of sewing machines they have on display.
