Most people go to Hawi on the Kohala Coast to visit the art stores, but the Ackerman Galleries are just a short two miles further down the road in Kapa'au. The art and gifts are far superior than anything in Hawi. So go on and drive to Kapa'au and you'll find the store across the street from the original statue of King Kamehameha I. That's another reason to visit and they have plenty of parking. Also there's a great little restaurant right next door.
