This was my favorite spot to visit in Hilo, but it's only worth it if you dare to bypass the restriction fence and swim 2 pools to the waterfalls which I did. It was amazing. It can be dangerous. Don't be stupid about it and you'll be alright. Don't go to pools if they're raging water, don't go if it's flooding, don't swim to the bottom or you could get sucked under. Some do swimming there but I would caution against that, especially on a rainy day unless you are with a local, too many tourist drownings have occurred to not heed warning.
