From the moment we stepped off the hotel grounds and took that five-minute stroll, we knew we were in for a treat. Hawaiʻi Loa Luau’s beachfront location is unbeatable just a stone’s throw from your room and the welcoming tiki torches and tropical foliage set the stage for an authentic island evening.

The tables and décor were on point: hand-woven mats, vibrant floral centerpieces, and soft lantern light created a festive yet elegant atmosphere. It felt like being invited into someone’s backyard only with much prettier lighting!

And oh, the food. Every dish was a flavor bomb. Even my daughter, who’s notoriously picky, polished off her plate and came back for seconds. Highlights included the kalua pork tender and smoky and the fresh island fish, cooked to perfection. When the dessert spread rolled out, we were transported to another galaxy of sweetness: haupia, lilikoi mousse, and lava cake that tasted like pure sunshine.

The performance was the cherry on top. The dancers’ precision and passion told the story of Polynesia in a way that had us cheering and tapping our toes. Fire knife dancing? Heart in your throat. Drum beats? Pure adrenaline. Every movement felt both ancient and electrifying.

Above all, the staff treated our ʻohana with aloha from start to finish. Smiles, kind greetings, and genuine warmth made us feel more like family than guests. From seating us to refilling our mai tais, each team member went above and beyond.

In short, Hawaiʻi Loa Luau delivers a seamless blend of culture, cuisine, and celebration. Professional yet playful, it’s an experience we’ll be talking about for years. Mahalo nui loa for a night we’ll...

This was an absolutely phenomenal cultural experience! From beginning to end the event was well arranged, flowed smoothly, was FUN and interactive, informative, and HIGHLY entertaining! The set up had a stunning scenic view of the ocean to one side and ideal paradise scenery set up all around. The amount of attendees was just enough to feel like a very large family gathering. There were adults and children in attendance and the entertainment was definitely family friendly. They have acrivities to do while the food is being set up on site. The food was DELICIOUS laid out buffet style. IF YOU ARE SENSITIVE to meat, keep in mind this is a LUAU. A FULL roasted pig is laid out and shredded on site!!! There was plenty to go around and if you have dietary restrictions, there were options there for you too. Drinks flowed with barely any restrictions alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Restrooms were small but clean. The show was spectacular!!! 10/10 would DEFINITELY go again AND if you're hesitant, don't be! It is worth every cent we paid and then some. My ONLY complaint/solution is keep in mind this is OUTSIDE (weather permitted) so the sun is beaming down on you the first hour and a half. AND the FLIES!!! YUCK! This is an outside event with open buffet trays. Your food is on the table exposed to flies. Some automatic fly swatter fans would be helpful on the tables and on the buffet tables. Aside from that... HAVE...

We’ve been to Luaus before and didn’t think we would go to one, but was going to the Big Island and taking my father in law (who’s never been to Hawaii) so we decided to book a Luau - since it will be his first time. I must say I was a little skeptical when I saw this was at a hotel, we’ve been to Luaus where we take a bus trip out to somewhere remote. This location was “remote” enough (we stayed in Kailua-Kona; about a 44 minute drive), it was held in the back of the Fairmont Orchid. The food was great (good selection of buffet items and desserts yum!) and the performance stage was quite close to our table; we actually got to see the performance-others we were sat in the waaaaay back and wasn’t sure WHAT was going on. The setting is more intimate and not a huge venue. So for a first timer, it was perfect! Though they didn’t perform the ceremony of taking the pig out of the ground, but I’m sure my father in law didn’t miss any of that! We definitely noted this was a better venue to see the performance and the food was NOT mediocre! If you are thinking about booking this Luau-do it! Suggestion: if you are looking for a lei upon arrival (you should call to coordinate the purchase of leis for your party), they don’t give out leis like other Luaus...
