People friendly park.. not very big beach area but big enough. The waves .. you have to watch out for BUT there is a life guard. Some area is rocky and there's a drop off.. so must be careful. GREAT BEACH TO SNORKLE! Lots of yellow tang fish (the reason why Kona got its nickname "the Gold Coast"). Plenty of yellow, blue and orange fishes. There's lots of coral as well. The waves get pretty crazy but when they are calm, it's one of the beat areas to snorkle. The lifeguard will post signs or warn you over the PA. Parking is easy and free.

We were in the area right next to Magic's Beach Grill- some of the BEST food on the island!! The kimchi fried rice with the duroc pork belly was hands-down the best on the planet! The Mahi grilled sandwhich was fresh and flaky and perfectly seasoned. Fabulous shaved Brussels sprouts.. first we've had thrm.with peanuts! this place is Magic- fresh food, amazing drinks, best views and to die for sunset!

If you visit Kona ..don't miss out on Magic food, this lovely white sand beach and one of the best sunsets on the island! I...

Small white sand beach in Kona, great for surfing! It’s #3 most dangerous beaches in Hawaii so maybe not the greatest to bring your little ones too. This isn’t a beach for snorkeling, locals make fun of tourists for coming here if you don’t know how to properly handle the water because it can get rough. Life guards are on duty & make announcements every 30 mins to remind people to watch their kids & not get caught in the surf. Beautiful sand, beautiful sunsets, limited parking, showers to rinse off at & a restaurant right next store. I love this beach but it’s worrisome to see so many people/children get hurt in the water because they overestimate...

Nice little park and beach with a sandy area and lifeguard. The lava rocks do make it a bit difficult for young kids and those with mobility issues to get to the water. Waves and current can get quite strong so you need to be cautious Best to go in the morning as it gets busier during the day with limited parking.

Unfortunately in the afternoon and evenings it gets very noisy with loud cars and loud music. Car radios with bass that can be heard 1/2 mile away, can be a real problem and there doesn’t seem to be any courtesy or...

This is a great park to watch the boogie boarders, beach volleyball or to enjoy yourself. The surf can get quite high and can be dangerous. But its nice that there is a lifeguard present. Really enjoyed this place.

My son swam at this small beach. Look out for the boogie boarders as they do backflips as the waves break on the shore. Parking is not very plentiful, so avoid peak times if possible.
