Impressed by the beautiful beach, however i wasn't impress by the people around it, sorry to tell you, some thieves broke into our rental car, a total disappointment for our first visit on the island, no to mention what the thieves took, anyway, we saw a bbq going on around and some easter celebration to the left side of the park so it makes us feel somehow safe it wasn't an empty parking lot... huge mistake, and of course as we went back to our car some folks ( some looked drugged or something idk) were sitting across the parking lot by the restrooms, of course just looking at us not even giving a "blank" Needless to say when police arrived we were told they already received some similar calls from the area. And give us the look like "yeah this happens when you are a tourist around here" to top that i doubt there are any cameras for security on the park because it's being more than a week and not a word from police about a follow up...it was a nightmare since i had to come back to the mainland without an ID and had to be "inspected" and questioned by officials (i know it's their job), so please do not leave anything in your car if you go there and of course, i know, it could sound insensitive and some people might feel offended, but i was told by locals from other areas which whom i shared my ordeal, that the west side is not a good area for tourist to visit or wander around or to wait for the sunset. I went there because the great reviews, and i do agree it's a beautiful beach they have, just again, maybe some tourist are not welcome... that's how i felt.
