Waihe'e Beach — Attraction in Maui

Fantastic beach to catch a sunrise if you arrive into town without much time to go anywhere else. It's off the beaten path and provides a great view of Haleakala and the rising sun, and in January the sun is closer to Haleakala, allowing you to get both in the image with ease.

It's a short drive from Kahului and is fairly easy to navigate to. It butts up against a golf course. There is decent parking, and if you arrive around sunrise there is plenty.

This beach has been really cleaned up since they kicked out all the homeless in the area. There's not much parking on weekends, but it's enough. There are showers, bathrooms, and benches for eating lunch. The shore is sandy, but the water is rocky along the entire stretch of the coast here. It may be a good place to snorkel on a calm day. It's a good place to take your kids since it stays shallow as long as there's sand, but the current is often strong, pushing you toward the north if you're not...

Grabbed some lunch and decided to take the short trip here to eat. It was EXTREMELY windy, I thought all my food would fly away but it didn't. I did have to hold the lid of my container and it was fighting for its life in the wind. Despite the harsh wind, we were able to successfully eat and enjoy our lunch, as well as the big waves crashing on the shore & the crystal blue waters. Very pretty. Would come here again if not...
