I have been going out to the Red River Gorge on a regular basis for most of my life. It is all equally wonderful.

Whistling Arch is a good place for people who want to hike and climb just a little bit. It is a wonderful starting place for people who want to hike and climb a lot. It has at least three stunning vistas and two places where an unaided, inexpert climber can test their skills. It is a great place for beginners, but it does not lose any of its charm, even after hundreds of visits. There are plenty of camping spaces right near there, conveniently spaced for those who want to stay near their car or those who want to go deeper in.

Was a relaxing quarter mile hike to location. There was an uprooted tree on one of the paths making for a challenge to get around that but well worth the view. Plus if you get to the other side of the arch there is this incredible natural rock couch you need to take a seat on.
