I've heard about this museum several years ago and have been wanting to visit but my family and I have just been busy and honestly, I kept forgetting about it. Other reasons for not visiting are because of pure laziness on my part and because of its location...I live in the far Northwest part of Las Vegas so it's not like it's a 5 minute drive to visit this museum. Aside from all my excuses, I said enough is enough and I finally made it a point to bring my family here on 19 May 2024.

When we pulled into their parking lot, I was extremely happy that this museum wasn't crowded at all. As I was walking up to the building, I was shocked to see how well kept the entire property was considering that I've seen several run-down museums in the past. When we walked into the facility (main building), we were greeted very nicely by the young gentleman at the counter. Our timing was impeccable because they were running specials on military members/Veterans so we all got in for free. Although, the normal price for entrance doesn't necessarily break the bank and you'll see afterwards just how much this museum is worth your time. Regardless of the free entrance, I still donated money in their bin because these types of venues don't seem to get as much support as other businesses in Las Vegas, and I don't want this museum to lose funding.

Additionally, I don't want to spoil the fun and elaborate too much on each building/structure, item, vehicle, etc. because as I mentioned earlier, this place is worth the visit. Words of advice to everyone...if you're visiting in the summer months, be sure to stay hydrated as you walk from building to building (you should stay hydrated no matter the time of year). Majority of the old buildings did have air conditioning when we visited so that was a pleasant surprise. Also, give yourself at least 3-5 hours to visit here because there's so much to read, see, and hear about.

This entire museum is maintained very admirably - I was even shocked to see how clean the bathroom was! Whether you're a local or visiting Las Vegas/Henderson, then you need to make it a point to visit this museum and not wait years like I did. I highly recommend this place...

This place was fun for very inexpensive. Some of the exhibits are def outdated and could use some tlc, but overall it was very interesting. My one complaint was the lady working in the gift shop. When we arrived, it was $5 for our entry fee, my husband tried to pay with a $20 bill and she looks at us and says, with attitude, "I don't think I can make change for that." My husband tells her that's the only cash we have and we don't want to use a card to pay $5 so she takes the twenty and opens the til, where a stack of $5 bills sits. If she had approached us with less attitude and asked if we had a smaller bill then it would have been different but her attitude was nasty and she made it seem as though she had no change, which was far from the truth. And her attitude continued at the end of our trip. Before we set out to explore, she told us that they were doing a scavenger hunt for children and asked if my son would like to participate, of course he said yes, so she handed him a booklet and pencil and told him to find as many of the pictures in the exhibits as possible. He did so and found all but one of the pictured items. So as we were walking back to the car, he stopped by the gift shop to turn in his booklet and she looks at him and says "this isn't the scavenger hunt booklet. Oh I must have given you the wrong booklet. This is the one for the scavenger hunt" as she hands him a thinner more colorful book than she had when we arrived and then stared at me and my son like it was our fault. How is it our fault that you gave us the wrong booklet. He actually found way more in the standard booklet than was listed in the scavenger hunt booklet but she wanted to look at us like it was our problem. Like I said, this was a fun museum that I will def be bringing family and friends to if they ever come visit, but the lady who was working this morning (8/14/16) had a bad attitude and...
