Fox Pond Park — Attraction in Henderson

Fox Pond Park, in northern North Carolina, Henderson area;is a true gem! Excellent fishing with a long winding trail, (tip) plenty of Snakes. Picnic tables;clean bathroom,& of course a nice playground for the children.My friends as you know I travel extensively & love enjoying life,as most of us prefer to do, especially with our families.This location is wonderful,very quiet & relaxing, it's also about 40 minutes,or less,from Kerr Lake; depending on traffic.Today is the first day of Spring 2024! This was my first time at Fox Pond Park while attending an event. The park is very scenic and I like the beautiful lake as a backdrop while the guest enjoy nature. The free I was with barbeques and served some delicious grub as we sat under the shelter. The flies, wasp and bees was my only annoyance, but we were in nature's home not mine so guess that is to be expected. All in all a good location for small to medium travelers and great location for wedding photos...

Cleaner and more open park space under large old trees, wider trails, and better maintenance overall compared to 10-20 years ago. Fox Pond is full of mud sliders and fish, so our visits full of interesting hikes and water exploration. Swampy wet area far side of pond has sturdy bridges. Ample parking on either sides of access driveway. I didn't check the playgrounds or fields the last few times, so no opinion there. Poop bag stations should be added....
