We have purchased the Norton wine in the past from this winery, several years ago we bought a case and had it shipped to Albuquerque. We haven’t had the chance to visit since our kids moved to Phoenix ten years ago so have missed the great Norton wine from Hermannhof.

We were on our way to Cincinnati and made a side trip to Hermannhof to pick up Norton wine. We called in our travels from Oklahoma City to St Louis to make certain they were open, and had the wine, as it was out of our way. We let the woman in the tasting room know we ran into a lot of construction on our way out of OKC but were certain we could make it well before closing. She gave us a different route that took us on back roads saying it would be quicker. It was not.

When we arrived it was at 4:45 PM and the doors were closed. We called and she let us in; told us the new Norton was a blend and very grudgingly gave me a small taste. I purchased six bottles based solely on my previous experience. Absolutely one of the worst wines I’ve ever had. I drank 1/2 of one bottle and couldn’t drink anymore.

We’re so disappointed in this wine, the service and the winery I can never recommend them again. I have no idea what I’ll do with the other wines at about $26 per bottle! Had I had the opportunity to really try it I would have saved my money. It’s sad all...

My wife Gwen and I decided to spend our whole day together today, so we thought a drive to Hermann for Octoberfest would be just what we needed.

We took Hwy 94 from Weldon Spring, enjoying the beautiful fall foliage, the roller-coaster hills, picturesque small towns, the lavish, sprawling wineries, and the mighty and wide Missouri as it meandered through the scenic landscapes of Missouri.

We decided to have a leisurely German-fare lunch at Hermanhof Winery, one of our favorite places to eat and relax on a lovely fall day that was full of plenty of blue sky and white, fluffy clouds!

The German polka music and Bavarian hiking costumes worn by some of the Halloween celebrants in the wine garden added to a festive spirit and seemed to be the perfect addition to German brats, sauerkraut, potato salad, and potato cakes with apple sauce, topped off by root beer made from an 1836 recipe.

We highly recommend the drive, the scenery, the delicious food and drinks, and the old-world charm of this lovely, historic, and truly unique...

Hermannhoff Winery is… fine. It’s pretty, it’s popular, it’s got the name recognition — but if you’re expecting this to be your grand finale winery stop, you might want to rethink. Or pre-eat. Or maybe bring a granola bar.

Let’s address the actual crime first: $16 for two pretzel sticks. Not a typo. Not a sharing plate. Just… two lone, little bread rods and a cup of cheese. I genuinely thought it came with a back massage or at least the chef’s autograph. It did not.

Drinks? Good, but easily the most expensive of any winery we hit that day. You’ll be sipping slowly not because you’re savoring it, but because your debit card is still trembling.

The space itself is nice, sure. But if you end here hungry and tipsy, you’re either walking home with a $50 snack bill or crying into your overpriced plastic cup...

Our girls’ trip to Hermann wouldn’t have been complete without Hermannhof Winery — and wow, they set the tone for an unforgettable weekend. Justin welcomed us with warmth and genuine hospitality, making us feel like instant friends. Georgie and Christie made sure every detail was perfect, and their thoughtfulness did not go unnoticed. From the charming setting to the gorgeous spread of local flavors, every moment felt curated with care. This is more than a winery — it’s an experience where history, craftsmanship, and heart come together. I left feeling grateful, inspired, and already planning my return.

We always start our annual trip to Hermann at Hermannhof. During Oktoberfest, they always have live music and sell my favorite, pretzels and cheese, and my husband’s favorite, warm candied pecans. Even though it can get busy, there’s plenty of tables and chairs so you can find a seat even with a big group. We also like that they let you bring in your own coolers so you don’t have to buy your charcuterie. Hermannhof doesn’t usually have my favorite wine of all the wineries, but they have a new (to me at least) StagsWood Red that I loved! My husband enjoys the Germantown White. Always a good time here.

This was our 3rd stop on the wine trail we created for ourselves on a beautiful summer day and we couldn't have been happier! The aroma's, the scenery, the pics we posted below sell themselves! We had a great experience and plan on coming back next time around the Hermannhof bend and maybe this time we can take a wine trolly so I don't have to stay as sober.......we highly recommend this winery to anyone who wants a toast above the rest!!!
