Cathedral Spires Viewing Spot — Attraction in Hill City

There are some amazing views if you are willing to make the hike. It's less than 3 miles from the trail head to the viewing spot, but be warned that it is a relatively strenuous hike. There is about 800 ft of elevation gain to the viewing spot so be ready to do some climbing. While I did not partake, it looks like the perfect place to do some rock climbing. Stunning just doesn't cover the reality of this picture. Worth the short if strenuous hike to get in this little valley behind the Spires. Helicopters buzzing around was a little annoying, but the Spires in the morning were beyond stunning. Trail was moderately trafficked in early June of this year...

Amazing views and it was not crowded. The drive up was very cool! Needles Highway and you pass through pure rock tunnels and wind up to the trail seeing breathtaking country and formations of great measure. Sylvan Lake near by is definitely worth the stop and hike around the left...
