I am willing to bet that this is the most photographed tunnel on this entire stretch of road. I can see why as it offers a unique view of Mount Rushmore through the opening.

I know that just about everyone who has a camera, or a phone has this exact same picture, so of course I had to take one as well to document my adventure there.

There are places to pull off to the side so you can get out and get some photos of the tunnel, as well as the surrounding area.

It is kind of fun to watch the big tour buses navigate this tunnel. Sometimes it looks like they are not going to make it, but of course...

This was so amazing to drive through. Go slow! This is definitely a one car tunnel.

Went through the tunnel from north side, pulled into parking on the left side, took pictures, and turned back around.

Needles highway is not my cup of tea. This one tunnel has the best view, so we decided to drive 10 minutes to see this and come back around.

Sturgis rally week was about to start so lots of bikers. Most don't speed through the tunnel, but some...

This winding road with it's narrow and sometimes one lane tunnels is an experience by itself. Take your time and drive on this winding road, which will take you through a variety of tunnels, amazing rock formations and very close curves. Only recommended to experienced drivers. At the end of the road you will find herds of buffalos grazing next to the road and you can get close and take...

Went through the tunnel from north side, pulled into parking on the left side, took pictures, and turned back around. Needles highway is not my cup of tea. This one tunnel has the best view, so we decided to drive 10 minutes to see this and come back around. Sturgis rally week was about to start so lots of bikers.
