Neon Momo is so much fun! I love claw machines so my husband and I went on a Saturday after a long and tiring work week and we had a blast. The owners Ash and Chris are extremely friendly and knowledgable. They were happy to help and very attentive to all of their customers. I have been to a couple of claw machine arcades in Las Vegas and around here and this one is by far my favorite. They thought of everything when creating this business, the atmosphere is fun and uplifting with a great color scheme and decor. They even have some official mascot characters to represent their brand. The plush prizes are good quality with tons of officially licensed properties to choose from. The claw machine's themselves are fair and not frustrating to play. We were able to win 14 plushies during our first visit. Of course there are levels of luck and skill involved with claw machines in general but this place has some of the most user friendly claw machines I've ever used! These are NOT like those impossible grocery store claw machines, they are much easier to win on. They even have a handy difficulty level displayed on each machine to help assist you. The owners were more than happy to offer tips on how to win certain plush and demo'd some of the machines for us so we could see how they were played. They also periodically went to the machines and re-positioned the plush to make sure that there were always possibilities to win more easily for the customers. They really go above and beyond to help you win and make your experience as fun as possible. They were rooting for us the entire time we were there. If you are there for a while or want to have a birthday party, the space is fairly large for a claw arcade and there is quite a bit of seating available. There is also a cute photo op area in the back to capture the memory of the day. They have a prize trade-up system if you want to collect a bunch of smaller prizes and trade in for something larger. All of your credits and prize tickets are conveniently tracked on a play card that you can register online to receive complimentary credits and tickets (at the time of writing). If you follow them on Instagram you can keep track of the new plush they are stocking their machines with and any special events they have coming up as well. If you love claw machines, I guarantee you'll love this place. It was great to support a local small business that is family owned and operated and have fun at the same time. I am already planning my next trip and I'm stoked this place is so close my house. Check this place out, I promise you...
Read moreCome here if you’re looking for Japanese-style skill crane games and don’t want to travel to Round1 in Vancouver. Even if you did go to Vancouver, Neon Momo has a couple games you wouldn’t find there.
Difficulty is fair. If you mess up or they notice it is too difficult they’ll readjust it in your favor. They will also give you tips when you play. Their UFO catchers have a rewind feature that could potentially be used to save a play that would have otherwise failed.
I prefer skill games in general over the typical claw machine because of the “luck” involved, but it was hard not to play the claw machines since that is the majority of their machines. If you want to reduce the amount of “luck” involved take a look at the difficulty rating system that Neon Momo puts on each machine. Also learn to walk away when the machine doesn’t appear ready to payout. In any case, you’ll eventually win something since it seemed like there was at least a couple wins on most claw machines over the hour or two I was there.
Quality of plushes is good with the majority being licensed (Super Mario, Sonic, Sanrio, SpongeBob, etc.). Figures from popular Animes were available in a skill game and trade up area. I personally liked seeing the figures since that is one reason I go to Round1.
They appear to be adding new games like Over the Edge even though they just opened. I look forward to how the space is going to look with...
Read moreMy family visited today and had such a great time. I wish I could give more than a 5 star review. My 16 month old daughter loved the prizes and had so much fun looking at all the machines. There is so much variety, with a perfect mix of cute toys/keychains/figurines, anime & video game characters. And the trade ups are really good prizes too. The space is so sparkling clean (so many other arcades have that gross musty feeling). And also well decorated with anime/vibrant motifs. Great seating too. The pricing is very reasonable, we paid $35 and had many many plays! They even have a couple non traditional machines (you’ll have to go to see them!)
I would say the shinning star of this business however, is the owners. They are so kind with explaining how certain machines work, and will move things to help you out, even swapping out your desired item. You can tell they really enjoy doing this, and are so helpful! We will be coming back and bringing friends. Thank you for a great evening Neon Momo. And for tolerating my energetic toddler...
