I love parks and nature and try to take advantage of one whenever I am visiting somewhere away from home. I spent the day in Durham and checked out this park later in the afternoon. It was a hot, humid and hazy day so being under the trees for shade was a huge relief. I was tired from walking a lot in the hot sun. Apparently there are a few entrances to this park because the first one I went to looked just like smack in the middle of the woods with no path. I asked some people who were courageously going in and they redirected me to the main entrance. The main entrance had signs and a clear path which I was very thankful for. I only spent about an hour in this huge park and only covered a very small part near the front.

I walked in and saw a pond with people actually cooling off in and decided to go sit by the water. It was so beautiful and serene. I just got my feet wet and chilled on some of the rocks for awhile enjoying the greenery. I walked a little further looking for the swinging bridge and bravely crossed it solo. Honey, I was holding for dear life while trying to snap chat me look like I was a pro, LOL. I let this family go ahead of me on the bridge so I could take my time and take some pictures and it was a lot of fun. I didn't venture further in to some of the other trails because this city gal didn't want to be in the woods in the dark. I will definitely check this park out again to get walk some more hiking trails and enjoy the...

After coming here for many years, I recently experienced the worst thing of my life when I lost my car key, unfortunately during my hike, which gladly someone returned to the visitor center. After coming into the visitor center, asking for my key, and after having a note left behind on my windshield to let me know that my key was here, the customer service was very rude and hostile, and they kepy questioning me As if I was not being honest about the situation. I felt discriminated against and misunderstood, when I politely asked for my key three times and described what the keychain and the key look like for my car’s make and model. As a healthcare professional, this is very unacceptable and should not be handled that way it was! I understand there are guidelines to follow, but people should be friendly and welcoming When it comes to situations like this to put people at ease, and reassure them that they are there to be helpful when needed. If you ever lose an item on the trail, you better be prepared for an unpleasant experience. If you need to claim it back, my advice to you is to make sure that you don’t lose anything so that you can avoid this from happening. I was very upset and left the park very disappointed due to their horrible attitude customer service and the way they treated me. These people should not be working at state parks if they’re not going to do their job right or handle the situation in a more approachable...

We ( with my spouse, 10 yr son and 6 yr daughter) visited Eno river state park over the weekend. My expectations were low (after my experience in Raven Rock state park ). One thing I learnt is while going to any of such parks , you should have an idea that which spot (or trail ) you want to visit. Not all spots would be good. I believe with my earlier visit of Raven Rock state park, we picked a trail to walk which had nothing interesting for my kids. But in Eno state park we parked our car in the 2nd parking lot (near to Cox mountain trail, pic posted by me) . Follow the footbridge way /direction from parking. That's the first thing we did right. When we walked down for around 8 mins, we saw a river and moving ahead a footbridge came . We got settled down after the bridge and enjoyed playing inside the river. It was fun for kids. Although, it was rocky and rocks were slippery. So, I assisted my kids inside the river. Water was flowing and I would say it was decent clean water ( not very clean though) . And then you can walk in the trails. Lot of places are there for taking pics which definitely matters to my wife. So, my kids played and happy and my wife took pics and happy. And then Overall I was happy 😊.

Some generic info - Restrooms are in parking areas only ( those get closed by 6 pm , not sure if this is because of current Covid situation). Get your own fruits /snacks etc for kids...
