This place is awesome! It is easy to get to, both in location and in the parking. It has accommodated every type of need for anyone to enjoy!
The downside to my recent two day visit was that the restrooms were locked the entire time I visited for both days, leaving several visitors without a place to use the bathroom. This was a concern for the fact that there were some people in need of this amenity and thinking where are the visitors supposed to use the restroom if this is closed? Where do people (mostly the younger ones) relieve themselves in a place like this where the nearest possible restroom is out of the park and off the highway. In the water?...likely so. Yuck!! Now, I am thinking one might be getting potty water in their eyes, nose and mouth's.
Maybe this site is not ran by anyone, or maybe the budget is low and cannot afford the regular maintenance of such a facility. Maybe the states Parks and Rec's Dept. isn't staffed enough to cover all campground/waterway park locations. Whatever the reason, the decision of keeping the restrooms locked during open hours, does not seem to be the best decision. A better solution (I think), would be to leave the restrooms open and doing a stock check once a week (Depending of course on use). If the budget is the reason then post notice that the restrooms are no longer stocked with toiletries effective immediately it is now the responsibility of those visiting to provide soap/hand sanitizer, and TP/paper towels. Furthermore, it should ask that we all take care in the cleanliness and care of the facility as staff is limited. But please leave the restrooms open for public use...and keep the use (intended for the bathroom's) out...
Read moreVery small, roped off area for the kids - which is fine - but like another person mentioned here in the reviews, if you’re an adult, you’re not allowed to swim outside of the ropes, nor are you allowed to use a float! Feels like you’re constantly being watching by the teenage lifeguards who are on a power trip with a little bit of authority. Not sure about you, but especially if paying a fee to get in, you shouldn’t be babysat as an adult. They also don’t give you any type of “rule sheet” so they just watch until coming up to you and busting balls. In addition the sand should be redone, frequent e-coli warnings, facilities need updating, and rules should be posted at the gate upon arrival before paying a fee. People would also come and sit right on top of you - no personal space or awareness of others, whatsoever! If you enjoy a clean and serene beach where you can relax,...
Read moreWARNING ⛔️ If you have children and want to swim in a roped off small area with lots of rules and no floats, this is the place for you! However, if you are a grown adult and want to float on a float outside the roped area in your own little picnic area, forget it first of all, you can’t not only can you not swim in the water, but you cannot have a float in the water Not to mention if you have a dog and your dog is on the float with you in the dog area that is not allowed either !!! so plan to be in a very small beach area with yourself or child and not be able to do anything you choose to do as a grown adult other than that sit in the wooded area in the shade and get your lunch out and get bit by...
