Update: 7/18/24: The Park Department is building a new dam, dredging the lake and rebuilding the spillway. It is a huge project. The spillway area is usually great for swimming and wading in a safe and shallow area. The water is often muddy but it is safe to go in. There is a nice concession stand right next to this area. You can get snacks at the boat house if you need to. There is a big parking lot right next to this swimming area also. There are picnic tables nearby and restrooms that are clean. The park does a wonderful job of keeping the entire area clean and safe. It is truly a...

Bring water shoes! Muscles at the deeper parts cut up our feet. Were adults. Its rocks and bark on the sand on the way in but you get beat up after 2 or so ft. No jumping off the inclines and park rangers are great with kids! Shallow end is great for pups too! Aside from the feet getting cut up its clean and great 👍! Restrooms are in good shape and i missed the concession stand experience so no experience for that end. Downhill and requires steps so not so wheelchair accessible.. Might be a ramp i don't remember.. Pretty far from my residence so only few trips to...

The swimming area underneath the spillway is perfect for small kids: it’s just the right size that it’s not too big that you lose sight of them from where you’d be posted from the sand banks, and shallow enough that kids bigger than 3 or 4 won’t need flotation devices anymore. As small as it is, it’s great that Cleveland Metroparks still has at least three lifeguards on duty watching over the swimmers. The rest of the park surrounding the swimming area is beautiful too: Hinckley Lake is serene and picturesque, surrounded almost throughout its entire perimeter by...

Great place to bring the family!!! They have clean restrooms and a place for kids of all ages to play in the water. There's the deeper side of the bridge where you can swim and then the shallow side where you can skip rocks. Fair warning, the swim side gets kinda deep really quick. Environment is clean and it's beautiful. Kind of a great little highlight of Northeast Ohio.

This is a wonderful place to bring your kids of any age. My s/o & i brought our 4 boys - ages 4.5, two 9 y.o.'s & 16! They all enjoyed it. Best part - its FREE. There's so much to do. Digging in the sand, building mud/sand pools & jumping in the water. Especially during COVID-19, it is great that everything is outside so no masks needed😁
