South Shore Model Railway Club & Museum — Attraction in Hingham

We took our 12 year old here and he had a blast. The place is tucked away but worth the trip. It’s run by local hobbyists and the models truly blew him away. He spent about an hour here but we had to pry him off the site. They luckily had one train running on the track (7-8 min for one complete loop). And he got to watch it come around twice! They have an open house four times a year open to the public. The room that holds the railway is huge and the tracks take up most of it.

The tracks are beautifully decorated and are laid out well, allowing many people to enjoy the various landscapes and towns and cities.
