County Line Orchard — Attraction in Hobart Township

I stood up in a wedding last weekend and would not recommend this wedding venue to anyone. For the price, you can do so much better!!! Most notably there was a massive lack of assistance from the coordinator. She didn’t have any idea what the plans were, how the decor was supposed to be set up, and was incredibly difficult to find throughout the day. She barely helped with the rehearsal and just stood there the entire time during the walkthrough. On the day of, she didn’t help set up anything and couldn’t answer our questions about where items should be placed or what the plan was. Our bride even asked to be assigned a different coordinator after having difficulty getting responses from the assigned coordinator, but that option was not available. This seems like a constant issue for the venue based on previous reviews…. Aside from the coordinator, the venue itself tried to place the wedding on the side of the barn with no AC. Part of the contract includes AC and they decided set up the entire wedding on the side of the barn without AC anyways. Our coordinator seemed confused as to why we were upset and instead of ensuring us County Line will take care of setting up the whole venue again on the other side where the AC was working, we (the bridal party & family) had to offer to haul all of the tables, chairs, and decor across the barn ourselves. Talk about awful service… Additionally, the bar at cocktail hour was severely under stocked. They had no sour mix or lemonade. The bartender even tried telling me they had no tonic water (when I could clearly see the bottle). The bartender claimed “they barely had any time to set up because they just got there at 5:30 pm”. I don’t understand why that is the guests problem? Shouldn’t the venue be responsible for ensuring their staff is properly scheduled to allow for enough set up time prior to cocktail hour starting? We (the bridesmaids) weren’t even offered any water while getting ready in the bridal suite on a 90+ degree day. Finally, as famous as County Line is for their donuts…the ones they served for dessert & favors were incredibly stale. Nothing like the ones you get in the fall. We also had an apple allergy at our table and when we asked if we could get a chicken entree without apples, we were told “no, that only the groom could get a plate without apples”. Surely there are many other venues that are a better value & provide better service than what we experienced last weekend.

This place was SUCH a disappointment and became SO commercialized that nothing is quality anymore! I had been here a few years ago and it was fantastic! Apples were so abundant trees were falling over! Naturally, because of my previous great experience, I came back today. This place is now a JOKE!!!! We LITERALLY walked about EVERY PATH there was that this farm owned to not find a SINGLE apple on a tree! I can't make that up nor have i ever seen anything like it! I was in awe with what I was seeing-correction, not seeing. I drove over an hour on the great experience I previously had to now stand in lengthy lines, massive price increases, AND not be able to pick a SINGLE apple from a tree! When I asked an associate what their refund policy was (mind you a whole $9- $3/person for apple picking only) the guy was very rude and ignorant and told me that "people were walking out with BAGS of apples-there's no refund to be given." As he stood counting a pile of money from his cashiers drawer, never even making eye contact with me to acknowledge me! I told him that was "a complete lie! People were leaving with bags filled from bins the farm left out for people to help themselves!" He then repeated himself by saying that "no refund was going to be given" and added that it was "late in the season." If these people know that its late in the season and theres no apples to pick, why in the hell are they STILL offering this service and STILL continue to charge people for it?! Droves of people were leaving the orchard with EMPTY bags and no apples! I still reluctantly moved forward to pay for my goods- I bought 2 packages of doughnuts, cider and 2 jars of salsa....$64?!?!?!?! What?!?!?! A $9 credit towards my purchse would've been chump change from their pockets! This place is full of just money hungry, ignorant staff who lack compassion and any type of consideration! I will NEVER be coming back here and never recommend them to anyone I know! This was a waste of time and money! They need to realize when they DON'T have apples to pick off the trees (aka: false advertising) they need to shut it down and NOT continue to take people's money! I've never seen such disappointment in so many peoples faces ESPECIALLY kids, but I'M being called a liar?! Ha! Take some pride in your facility and more importantly...

I attended our company annual convention here on February 23, 2024. The food was served as family style and portions to share were brought to the table. It was awful and terribly planned out. They would bring a bowl of eggs, then 15-20 mins later a plate of bacon/sausage, then 15 mins later French toast. Literally everything was so spaced out you had to eat one item at a time and it was so poorly served. The worst thing was the fruit tray they brought out. I thought it was a joke, it literally had like 8 small thin slices of fruit, it looked like leftovers after people had been eating off it. The speaker system cracked and scratched and you couldn’t hear any of of the people speaking. The only positive thing about this place was that it was pretty. The land and decor was beautiful. If I had paid for this type of service for something I planned I would have asked for my money back and I’m easy to please. I never have left a bad review somewhere before but I felt it was important for whoever does the catering/banquet events to know so they can improve. everyone at our table like 10 of us didn’t even eat because the food was gross. The hashbrowns would of been good if they weren’t raw and hard, eggs were worse than powdered hotel eggs . The portions were small that they expected us to share , but that wasn’t an issue anyways because no one wanted it because we all thought the food was horrible. The only thing anyone liked was the bacon and we asked for more because for a table of 10 they only had like 8 pieces, which they never brought more for us. Overall most of the managers and doctors within our company were even highly disappointed with the food and the speaker quality. Most of us could not hear. I feel bad because the property itself is gorgeous. Whoever they hired to cater the food and the speaker system for events really ruined it though. I hope our company has our next convention somewhere else as us employees look forward to a treat and meal. We only do this once a year and it was awful. The decor and property itself was above average and...
