I came here for one reason, and that was to see the truck from the Beverly Hillbillies. By far my favorite show of all time, and there's probably not a single thing about this show that I don't already know. I've even been by the Chartwell Mansion in Bel Air, a few times. Thankfully before the original front gate got moved. Anyway, the cool thing is that you can pay to get your picture taken in the truck. Yes, you actually get to sit in it! Touring rest of the museum is actually pretty cool. Lots of local radio and music history. Along with various, and well detailed, stories and artifacts from the past. Even in their bathrooms they have the schools Christian music station playing. Which I thought was pretty cool! Definitely good music. In fact, I use an app called "Simple Radio" to listen to it in my car. My only gripe, is that this place is a *you know what* to find. Once you get in from the highway the signage is horrible, or lack thereof, to better put it. The college kids working the museum even agreed with me. Break loose with some signs and you'll get more visitors!

Great museum located in Hollister, right south of Branson, on the campus of the College of the Ozarks. Three stories full of a very wide collection of items ranging from the car used in the Beverly Hillbillies to a machine which is one of two known in the world. The first floor has dolls, furniture, a few cars and a loom while the second floor has the largest gun collection I have seen outside the Imperial War Museum in London. There are literally hundreds of different guns as well as equipment used to reload through the years. A nice collection of trophy animals on display: many endangered and a few unfortunately extinct. It is a museum that has something for everyone. My wife disappears to go look at something on the third floor, Andy William’s sweater collection or something while I looked at guns and stuffed animals. The staff working here are all well mannered and courteous college students. They take their job seriously and were happy to answer questions.

Last weekend, my friend and I visited the Ralph Foster Museum, and we were both blown away by how much there was to see. It’s spread out over three floors, with everything from Ozarks history to pop culture artifacts. There’s also an incredible collection of historic firearms, a huge variety of mounted animals and birds, and some beautifully preserved spaces like an old-time post office, a blacksmith shop, and even a full historic log cabin. One of my favorite parts was the deep dive into local music history—I had no idea how many talented musicians have ties to this area. And seeing original artwork by Thomas Hart Benton was an unexpected treat. If you're looking to escape the heat or a rainy day, this place is well worth a few hours. It’s one of those spots that’s easy to overlook—but absolutely worth exploring.

What a great value this place is! $6 admission or $5 for seniors! They have a neck of a collection. The original car from the Beverly Hillbillies is the first thing you see. Then a small art area, a few tractors (one steam), an old wagon, old tools, a small log cabin rebuilt in the museum depicting early Ozark Mountain life, a collection of cameo pins and how they are made and that's the first floor. The second floor has a lot guns, rifles, pistols, Gatling and another one built in Asia that started with a B. Then you get to the stuffed animals. Quite a variety! There were Lions, Tigers and Bears, water buffalo, Elands, Squirrels, Coyotes, wolves, Bison, among others. Then the stuffed birds, almost anything imaginable. Then the butterflies, also a big variety. I had seen so much by this time, I don't remember what else but we spent 4.5 hrs there. Go see...
