Go to Ropemill park 2.9 Mile walk or Cherokee aquatic center 1.5 mile walk Follow well worn trail with one foot in front of other , Do not look at gps on phone while walking, you will miss the beauty around you. Do not go off the trail along the river thinking you have a short cut , you will probably get hurt , poison ivy , copper heads , hornet nests , mosquitoes and worst of all you come out of that and you are told by some very upset people in their backyard to go back to the trail you left because There is no PUBLIC access through the private property near the falls . Waterfall way is in a private small neighborhood There is no where to park And if you try you will be ticketed and towed Google maps is wrong and misguiding people to think they can access this way. They can not ! To many people are arriving on this street thinking itās a park with all the comforts they need , itās not and the people of the neighborhood are at their boiling point now . Due to rudeness, trash and dangerous traffic . I hope you find it ! Itās a fun walk or kayak...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAmazing waterfall! Thereās a spot to jump off into the water as well. A little over three mike walk from Old Rope Mill. You can follow the trail using AllTrails or here are some copied directions:
The waterfall is reached by an unofficial trail from Old Rope Mill Park. First, cross the bridge across Little River in the park center and follow the multi-use hike/bike trail north for about 0.3 mile. Then, turn left onto a broad road and follow it under the I-575 overpass to a sand dredging area. Go as far to the left as you can - the road you want closely follows the Little River and reaches a turnaround soon after exiting the sand dredging area. From here on, follow a narrow but well-worn path along Little River that eventually rises to a ridge sticking out between two fingers of Lake Allatoona. Turn right and follow the obvious trail to the waterfall. The total hiking distance one way is about 1.5 miles one way. People also really enjoy kayaking the placid Little River and a finger of Lake Allatoona directly to the waterfall.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis was our first time to hike to the falls, also known as Allatoona Falls. We had done some research to make sure we knew how to get there, but still had to backtrack a few times. From Olde Rope Mill Park in Woodstock, go across Little River Bridge near the parking lot. Go left after the bridge and follow the trail straight to 2 posts and a cable on the ground. You will see a dirt road for the mine (dredge sand from the river). Go left on it and go under 575. Stay left following the river for a while. The road will turn into a trail staying along the river. You will take a right to cross a small creek that has rocks to cross. The big stone has red and black paint. Follow the trail that goes up a hill and then back down to the river. You will see a small dirt road leading up the hill. Take it to the right and to the falls. If you walk to a neighborhood, go back and find the road that goes to the right. We used Google Maps after we went to the neighborhood to help us see where...
