Since the pandemic, this was our first visit back to the park. We used to visit quite frequently to allow the kids to run and play. The park is still the same. Alot of wide open spaces, picnic shelters, playground, volleyball court, dog park, ample restroom facilities and parking, and walking/jogging paths. We partook of one of the shelters to have a pop-up family picnic. (Meaning we didn't reserve the shelter and took a chance one would be available!) Most times we have visited it has never been a issue to get a shelter, though pre-pandemic at certain times of the year it's better to pay and make a reservation at parks. Especially if you are having a big family celebration (birthday, graduation, etc) as they may not be available. We stayed about 3-4 hours and it eas lovely. Not too many mosquitoes (if you stayed away from areas with standing water), not too much sun as it was an overcast and rainy day. All in all we had a great time, the kids played and rode their scooters around the walking path near our shelter for a bit (not advisable if the park is highly populated) and we were able to relax and enjoy a beautiful day at the park. If you live in /near Florida City, or are not too long of a driving distance away, I highly recommend visiting the park. Especially if...

Nestled amidst urban surroundings, this park provides a welcomed escape for families, nature enthusiasts, and fitness buffs alike. The well-maintained grounds boast lush greenery, scenic walking trails, and ample picnic areas perfect for gatherings or peaceful relaxation.
The park's amenities cater to various interests, including playgrounds for children, basketball courts for sports enthusiasts, and even a dog park for furry friends to roam and play. Additionally, the cleanliness and upkeep of the facilities reflect the dedication of the staff and the community's pride in this local gem.
While my experience was mostly positive, I've deducted a 4 star rating due to occasional overcrowding during peak times, which can detract from the peaceful atmosphere. Nevertheless, Mayor Roscoe Municipal Park remains a must-visit destination for anyone seeking a serene outdoor retreat in Homestead.
Overall, I highly recommend Mayor Roscoe Municipal Park for its natural beauty, recreational opportunities, and peaceful ambiance—a true gem in the bustling cityscape of...
Read moreThe park is really really nice but needs to be maintained more frequently. It's not that it's dirty or anything like that, it's just the grass and gardens are overgrown. The landscapers need to use there edger as the sidewalks and streets are overgrown with grass. Also the volleyball court sand needs attention. Apparently the playground tarp as been taken off without replacement but from prior review picture the park equipment has been updated 👍. The pavilions need a good pressure washing. I'm a new resident to the area and I'm comparing it to the maintenance work dade county and city of doral does to there parks. I do visit and enjoy the park weekly with my little one and will update this...
