Art Center of Citrus County — Attraction in Homosassa Springs

This is a local performing arts center with an auditorium that accommodates 200 guests. The local productions are all volunteer, in addition the occasional professional entertainment events. The actors on stage all use wireless microphones so being able to hear them from anywhere in the theater is not a problem, plus hearing assistance devices are available for those who need them. There are several restrooms in the building with the auditorium and lots of restrooms in the box office/gallery/small event building a few feet away. Refreshments are served during intermission (not free), but you cannot bring them in to the auditorium. No cell phone use, no photos, no smoking and no talking during performances, please. We arrived to see the comedy play '4 Old Broads'. Everyone with the theater, actors, actresses, ticket agents, and ushers are all volunteers! And so friendly. The play was quite professional, you would never have guessed that they weren't well-paid actors straight from Tampa or Broadway! Really good! This was my first visit and I will say I was very impressed. The theater is beautiful, clean, comfortable seating and the sound was perfect. The intermission next door was wonderful, friendly people, clean, and the soda and snack for free completed the evening. Not to mention the talented people who put on the show.
