Great experience coming to the Forest Reserve! We booked it through the Disney counter at the Aulani Resort. My son and I were part of the 3 hour expedition and had a great time. The forest is pretty thick, and some of the areas along the trail are slippery, so you must go slow and be careful, you'll run into lots of mosquitos so wear repellant. Also, wear water proof shoes/boots, theres lots of puddles and mud, it's a rainforest so you should expect that.

The neatest things we saw were the ginger sprouts, some of the big hawaiian plans, the trees were cool, and the bamboo forest is a MUST SEE!! At the end of the long hike is the waterfall, which was not too big due to the low rain during the season, but it was still really neat.

You'll have to prepare yourself for sweating as the humidity high on the island. Overall, I give this 10 STARS! I will go again when I get to visit the island, it was...

Great and easy hike to do in Oahu! I took my two dogs here and they had no problem hiking through the terrain, made up of gravel rock, dirt trails and a couple handfuls of stairs but nothing too crazy. I saw small children with their families hiking with no issues. The waterfall is pretty and photogenic. We went after it has rained the previous days and the trail was a bit muddy in places but there is a wash station in the parking lot and I was able to clean my shoes and rinse off my dogs. Parking lot is big but was pretty full the day I went. There is a second parking lot a little past the first one as well. I believe there is also a gift shop of some sort, I did not go in. There is a 5 dollar fee in order to utilize the parking lot. Overall, the trip takes about 1-2 hours at a moderate pace with lots of other people there too. Great hike for families or those looking for a scenic hike without...

A wonderful hike through the forest to Manoa Falls.

Unfortunately, the Treetop restaurant nearby is closed for renovations as of June 2018, so be sure to bring food and water. There is still a small shop open near the start of the hike that has many supplies, gifts, and snow cone treats.

The hike to the falls can be muddy and rocky since it is through a rain forest. Bring sturdy shoes that you don't mind getting dirty.

While the pool area underneath the falls is technically closed and off-limits, it is still possible to enter. Due to the remoteness of the location it is not strictly enforced. However, use caution. People have been injured here as rock can fall from the surrounding cliff into the pool below.

Recommended for able hikers and on drier, hotter days as this will reduce mud and make for...

We hiked to Lulumahu Falls. The hike itself was absolutely gorgeous. It is moderate and you will most likely get wet so bring shoes that you can walk through water in. To start off you need to basically hop the fence and walk down a gravel path with bamboo trees on either side. You keep going straight although there is a path to the left that Google maps path may take you. This will take you on private land so go straight instead. The path isn't hard or long but there is mud and some small climbs over smaller boulders and rocks. When you get to the top the falls are very pretty but it isn't some immaculate view. There is a small, cute pool to wade in and the pictures of the falls and your hiking party are worth it.

Parking fee for visitors, free for HI residents. This trail is tough! The trail head is not marked well but walking back to the highway from the vistor center there is a little off shoot and that is the trailhead. You start by scaling the water drainage trench and follow pink and orange flags tied onto trees. It is VERY muddy and slippery. The different areas you walk through are beautiful, the waterfall at the end was just a trickle when we went but other reviews have seen it in full. There is a cave you can explore if you dare, there is a rope to climb up into the cave. Despite the challenge of the mud the memories of this hike were what we took home we laughed so hard when we fell and had great conversations.
