They're Baptist. Point blank. They try to lie and say they are not but they are. Just admit it. We asked if they believed in the baptism of the holy spirit and the pastors response was.... were not gonna worry about that right now its not important. WHAT????? Yeah definitely Baptist. I'm free. Im not under a set of doctrines . Im free by the grace of Jesus and dont need people hindering the holy spirit. I was there months ago and my mother had a conversation with pastor and he said right there in the membership class that they don't believe in the baptism of the holy spirit. We tried to have this conversation with them and they brushed it off. Im being civil just telling the truth about a church that disregards one of the most important part of God thr Holy spirit. I dont use my real name on here so of course you won't have a record of me. It was back many months ago. The worship was horrible. There was no one singing. It was so dead spiritually. They need a...
Read moreAt the suggestion of the grandparents of our pastor in Maryland who were stationed on Oahu 40 years ago, we came to visit the international church as soon as we moved here. Well, we never left. The church is a healthy mixture of 30% locals, 30% islanders and 30% military. Pastor Scott is a great teacher with a passion for God’s Word. We always find his sermons solid and inspiring. People are very warm and easy to talk with. There are many opportunities to get involved loving God and serving the people. We were soon invited to join a home group and began to get to know people. Two years later, it has become our beloved church family. My wife and I are now both involved with Sunday school teaching for the children and senior visitations. We are also part of the mission team and even took a young missionary trainee from the worship team to experience China. It has been truly a great move from the mainland to the island largely because of the...
Read moreI LOVE this church. If you're looking for a kind, warm, welcoming church family, this is it. The pastor, (Scott Custer) is theologically sound and well-spoken. He is uncompromising to Biblical truths and doesn't bend for broken cultural narratives. The assistant pastor, Dennis, is one of the kindest souls you'll ever meet. I've been to many churches and none have given me the feeling of 'home' like this one. The church almost always has an adult Sunday school happening at 9:00am before the 10:30am service where you get the opportunity to dive into the Bible together in discussion and fellowship. During this crazy COVID19 time, the church is meeting in-person (or online if you prefer) but observes social distancing and mask wearing to protect our kupuna and at-risk individuals. So grateful for International...
