Council Lake — Attraction in Hood River

Really nice family friendly lake and campground. The fishing is okay, they are there, but pretty 'smart'. Bugs weren't nearly as bad as I expected. Only thing I would say is if you are going to use a free campsite, don't try and control everyone else who camps there. It's a free site and therefore anyone can use it. Including the guy with a generator. If you want a place that is exactly how you want it, pay for a designated tent only site at a fee campground where they can control who/what is used for camping. Or go further into the backcountry. Don't have high expectations for easy access free spots. Enjoy it...
