The Fruit Company - Factory Experience — Attraction in Hood River

I ordered the Orchard Celebration Fruit Basket with Specialty Gourmet Items (2 Artisan Cheeses) on 8/12/2021. It was supposed to be delivered the day prior to my dad's 95th birthday party on 8/20/21 (8 days). On the ordering page I set up delivery for the 20th with no issues or notifications. I call my sister to see that it arrived. NO SHOW on the 20th. NO SHOW on the 21st (party day). NO SHOW on 22nd, 23rd. Finally showed up on the 24th. The basket was not in very good shape. It had obviously spent a lot of time in excessive heat, and the fruit was mush. Additionally, the cheese was in no shape to eat. Most of the damage was heat related. But the heat softened food then just got crushed from lack of sufficient packing.

When I contacted customer service about the poor condition of the package, they said they could do nothing because I choose ground shipping. If ground shipping is a problem, then why do they offer it? Maybe if it arrived on time the fruit would not have cooked.

I learned two things. In my opinion, The Fruit Company is not a company that people should be doing business. The second is that Harry and David's does this much better and has much better customer service.

TERRIBLE communication and return policy! Paid them $100 for NOTHING - yeah, no refund, no credit, no help. On December 1, I placed an order for business purposes. Thankfully I follow up on deliveries. UPS would not leave package at door and returned to The Fruit Company on December 12. I had ZERO notification of delivery issues or that the item had been returned. Upon checking delivery status on December 16, I found that the package had been returned to sender and my credit card had not been credited. I contacted customer service and was told that they could not resend my order or refund my money that this was a UPS issue and a claim needed to be filed. This is my first negative review of a business. The Fruit Company was unable to try to help to get the package to the intended recipient. I am now scrabbling to get a business gift delivered before Christmas. I hope this review makes others beware and The Fruit Company realize even small...

I recently received a gift box from The Fruit Company as a surprise from a dear friend. The box is called their Covered Bridge Fresh Fruit Stand. The exterior of the box is beautiful and I have attached photos. What a delightful surprise! The inside was even better and included several well-wrapped varieties of pears and some crispy red apples. It also came with their strawberry licorice, Wisconsin chipotle cheddar cheese and their beef summer sausage. All were delicious. The pears were luscious, and the apples crispy and sweet! What a nice, healthy gift to give someone! My husband and I ate it all and the box is now empty though almost too pretty to throw out! This is a great gift to send for just about any occasion.
