We visited on the 3 day weekend in February and the winery was open for the special weekend but hadn't been open in a while. The parking area is large and set among the fields of vines. There is a cool old building by the parking area too....neat for photography. We were driving a big truck and camper and had no problem getting a spot, we arrived just after they opened. The tasting was $10, waived if you bought 2 bottles. A side note that doesn't apply to many folks, but unfortunately for us we need to watch how much we buy because we are travelling in a truck camper so the overall weight of the rig is important, and wine is heavy and adds up fast. I wish that the tasting for 1 person would be waived with a single bottle purchase. Back to the story.... the tasting room is large and very open. Local artist art hangs on the walls and can be purchased. The wines were all very good and hard to pick just one. I went for the Pinot Noir Rose to purchase. The servers were knowledgeable about wines and about the area. Service was friendly and they didn't rush your tastes. Overall this winery was a great one and we will stop...
Read moreLoved the wine but won’t go there again. When we arrived I got out of my car and smoked a cigarette. A few minutes later an employee came out from front entrance and started yelling stating there’s no smoking on the property because it could be hazardous. I apologized and stated I didn’t see any signs. I then put my cigarette out in the cigarette dispenser that was on the property. I should have left after that incident but it was a long drive and I wasn’t going to let it ruin my experience. I had been looking forward to visiting this winery. The gentleman that served me my wine was very nice and suggested some wines to taste. They were lovely and I ended up buying 6 bottles. The employee that checked me out was the same employee that informed me of their no smoking policy. She wasn’t as nice to me as other visitors checking out as well. Btw, you have to walk a short distance from parking lot to building before you see the non-smoking signs...
Read moreVisited this winery during our recent visit to Hood River. We entered in around 4:20pm and they close at 5pm. The staff was not happy about us walking in at that hour clearly. Anyways we ordered the tasting really quick and even the staff behind the wine bar was not too keen on helping us out in making some good choices. For the tasting, you get to pick which wines you want so I ordered these vines- Pear Vine, puerto montana, barbera, riesling, rose & cab sauv. Honestly i loved their puerto montana but wasnt a fan of the rest. The views from this winery are phenomenal. My friend got a full pour of their pear wine and trust me the full pour was just a little more than a single tasting glass. My friend did ask them if this was their full pour and they said yes.
Great place to spend some time with friends with amazing views of Mt.Hood but I personally have had better wine and friendlier service...
