Would have been 5 stars but we never once interacted with a staff member. Had to change our reservation which cost an additional $10 mandatory charge. Because of this we had to switch to the “left” beach instead of right, no biggie when looking at the map. Pulled in late on the first night, the check in kiosk was closed (at 3 pm!) but indicated our space number to go to-pleased to find a nice large back in spot which was dead level. Fire pit had been cleaned out but there was paper towel (toilet paper?) under the tree in the back. Minor issues at best. Went charter fishing the next day so left before the kiosk was open. Returned from fishing at 6 pm and the kiosk was once again closed. Pulled into camp and decided to take the well pummeled path from our camp spot to the “nearby” beach. Ha! The beach sounds like it is just over the beach grass hill but we were fooled! Beach is easily 1000 feet away and no true path leading to it just what the kids have obviously trampled down. Turned around and met our delightful neighbors when we took a wrong turn in the grass jungle. They had overheard us talking about snakes (I’m frightened by them and my spouse thinks it’s hilarious.) & tells us while riding their e-bikes earlier that day they had to ride around 5 garden snakes which were about 25-30” long, sunning themselves on the blacktop of our loop, mostly in front of our 5th wheel. Washington coast is beautiful, the site is well maintained, perk is staff doesn’t bother you, but y’all can keep your “harmless” snakes!! If back in this area we will stay again but will book for the right side of the campground so we can use the beach at...

One of the nicest State Parks. Rates up there with Ike Kinswa.

You don't have worry about overhanging trees hitting your roof. The few pull through sites are HUGE. Most of the campsites offer privacy.

Many of the yurts have parking spaces bigger than actual campsites.

Compared to many state parks the pads are relatively level. They are asphalted. Most sites offer a generous grass section.

Unlike most state parks, no borders and trees making it difficult to back in.

I didn't see a single campsite where the pad is angled wrong.

This is a gem compared to Ocean City.

Could it be improved? Definitely. The park is large enough for more campsites.

The state needs to cater to those with solar. Offer a few small, medium, and large sites with only 10 amp hookup, water and sewer. Require that you must primary use solar to use these sites.

During the peak summer months those with solar can power their rig off of solar and only use the 10 amp to help recharge batteries at night. In fact the whole section of solar required sites could have it where the 10 amp circuits turn on at 10 pm and off at 4 am. 120Vac at 10 amps is 1200 watts. 6 hours of night time usage is 7200wh. It's too little to power most kitchen appliances and at hours that most won't be using power. But those 6 hours of 1200 watts means that on cloudy days the batteries get some help without having to run a generator much.

Pictures of a yurt site. It has external 30a...

Beautiful area! There's a full service campground just off the beach (you can walk into beach from campground). Campground review down below.

The Beach:

This is a hidden 💎. The beach is beyond beautiful and those that come here seem to remove their trash with them. It's very sandy and windy. Perfect area to fly kites or simply soak in some sun on the beach.

There is miles of coastline where you can drive and get your own spot to watch the sunset or simply take the kids to build sandcastles.

There's plenty of access points where you can simply drive into the beach with your car or truck. Some access points are a little softer than others so if your not in a 4x4 take caution. Though I've personally never had to use 4x4 personally with my truck.

The campground:

This is one of my families favorite spots. The campground has full service spots for RVs. (Power, water,& sewer). There are loops with private campgrounds spots. (Trees and bushes help seclude each spot). Not every spot is the same seclusion but many sites off it. The campground is well maintained and staffed. Highly recommend booking your next camping experience here.

Don't forget you'll need a discover pass if your just visiting the beach. If your camping overnight your camping pass should suffice for...

Tokeland, Washington Itinerary 👇👇   Tokeland is located on the Washington coast, about an hour and a half away from the well-known town of Long Beach, Washington. It is such a hidden gem and is the perfect spot to take a day trip to or spend a quiet weekend away.    When you visit, here are five things you HAVE to do when in the area:   1️⃣ Stay in the oldest hotel in Washington - @tokelandhotel. This hotel was built in 1885 and is THE most unique hotel we have ever stayed at. If you are just passing through, we recommend coming here for lunch or dinner at @thewanderinggoose restaurant, grabbing a drink at the bar, or cozying up on one of the many comfy couches and playing a few board games. This hotel also offers insanely delicious baked goods.   2️⃣ Eat lunch at @nelson.crab - This quaint, family owned business sells some of the freshest seafood we have ever had! From Dungeness crab cocktails, to shrimp bagels, this spot has it all.   3️⃣ Go clamming! This area of Washington has some of the best clamming in the state. We highly recommend going to Grayland Beach, we spoke to a few locals who said they had their limit of clams in 10 minutes!   4️⃣ Check out @alder_n_co in Raymond, Washington - This coffee shop is located about 20 minutes from Tokeland and is a great way to support local businesses! This coffee shop sells delicious drinks and food but they also have a whole shop filled with local art, jewelry, plants, and more. We spent a while walking around with our coffee looking at everything they offered.   5️⃣ Explore some of the other towns in the area - What we loved about Tokeland is the ability to bop around to so many cute, quaint coastal towns. South Bend is worth exploring, stop by the courthouse to see their insane glass ceiling or check out @willapabrewing. #ad A big thanks to @visitlongbeachwa for having us 🫶 hopefully you all can experience this place for yourself! #tokeland #tokelandwashington #washington #washingtonstate #washingtontravel #washingtoncoast #pnwonderland #pnw #pnwadventures #besthotels #uniquestays #tokelandhotel #pnwcollective
