Not diverse friendly. I encountered a very uncomfortable situation with the library staff when I ask if she could manually extend my due date. I didn’t have my library card with me but offered to give her all my information and she refused. I asked why and she hesitated with a response. Then I said is it because of privacy reasons? And she said yes, I said I am not asking for any personal info, I can provide you all the information you need to verify even the name of the book and she refused. I turned in another book I had and walked away so annoyed she refused to help. Days later, I get an email saying I turned in the book wet. When I KNOW in fact I didn’t. I actually didn’t even get a chance to read the book because I was still reading the first book I was asking about. The book was just sitting on a book shelf in my home. I do believe it was a racial encountered because of how she spoke to me, refusing to help and then days later I get a damaged book email that they are making me pay for? Why didn’t she say anything when I handed her the book? She literally was holding the book when I handed it in. Why did it take days later to report the damage to me? Why did she hesitate when I asked her to tell why she couldn’t help me? I knew something was off when I walked away. I would never feel comfortable going to that library again.
On a separate note, the library is very noisy since there isn’t a private kids section so you always hear kids...
Read moreDO NOT GO IF YOU WANT PEACE AND QUIET It's an open space"library" which really isn't a library. They consider it more of a community center. Which means you can hear ALL the noise from the children's library aka playroom. Their conference rooms, are just sealed off cubicles that won't get rid of any ambient noise .Patrons are allowed to be on their phone using speakerphone with no regard to others. Staff doesn't enforce any type of regulations for noise control .It's the NOISIEST & LOUDEST "library" ever to exist. HORRIBLE for any kind of studying . And yes there are academic libraries better suited for studying, but maybe I wanted the comfort of my township library that's minutes from home to study .Also, this review is meant specifically for anyone in my position that's looking for a quiet setting close to home to be able to study. Contrary to their reply, they do not ask or remind patrons to quiet down. So thankfully, I will be going to the Upper Moreland Public Library now, it's more suited to my needs. Again, this review is for students looking for a traditional library setting to be able to focus and study...
Read moreWe love the Horsham Township Library. Even though we moved a couple of towns over, we make this our primary library. My children have been coming here since they were babies. There is an engaging variety of programming (for all ages) and a very dedicated, creative, AMAZING staff. There are reviews on here about the noise levels, however, I've been in the building many times when it's quiet. It's usually a bit more boisterous before or after a kids' program. Parents tend to come earlier or stay after and let the kids play and explore on the children's side. Please have patience and be thankful there are parents that are actually bringing their kids to the library. They are fostering a love of reading and books. We need the next generations to appreciate and champion...
