Aviary — Attraction in Houston

One of my favorite things to come to the park and watch in the small zoo they have here and the Aviary is one of my favorites. They have a wide selection of birds at times. Turkey Vultures, North Crested Caracaras, Barred Owls, Guinea Fowl, Domestic Chickens, and a nice selection of tropical birds. Some of the birds are here because they have injury's or health problems that will not allow them to survive in the wild so they are taken care of here at the aviary. Overall if you come to bear creek the Zoo is a must on your to do list. (Also its free!)

P.S Keep in mind that climate and weather will affect when the animals are here or not, the zoo is a bonus for coming to the park, not the main attraction, keep...

My kids and I have been coming here for the last three months almost every day. My daughter and Precious have grown a beautiful bond. She walks down from her perch just to get her eyes on her and study her and my daughter has been raising her frequencies to let precious know she's very loved. I also try and sing to her she absolutely loves being sung to. I will have to make a video of her when I do next time! We found out also Precious loves to laugh and I recorded her because my husband didn't believe me that it was infectious. Small Aviary, Animals appear to be well cared for. Very clean. All of the Animals here are here because they have some form of disability preventing them from being released into the wild. Nice little selection of birds that your kids will love to see and learn about. Indeed as in other reviews some can speak and rather well actually far better than expected. Unfortunately no donation boxes would have liked to support the care of these animals not sure who is running the park but thank you for taking in animals in need and making it a little free attraction for the public, hasn't gone unnoticed. We will definitely be back...
