Beautiful park full of historical markers and the graveyard where most of the Texans who fell in the Battle of San Jacinto slumber. There are also other historic graves of San Jacinto township citizens, and veterans who elected to be buried here. The bathroom building was built in the early 20th century and is the oldest building on site.

Was disappointed here. We didn't know the battleship was gone The restrooms were closed and the building was in disrepair. Only the grass was cut, walkways were dirty and had tree branches everywhere. Plaques, monuments and sculptures were dirty and not clean.

Wonderful morning to walk the battleground. Very peaceful and lots of wildlife. My only complaint is the charge to enter the museum. When it was free, it was our family's go to on slow weekends

While the Monument and the museum at the base, is very enjoyable, and informative. And touring the Battleground is walking through history. Primarily my wife and I will bring lunch, park at the Ship channel, and have a nice picnic, watching the water, tug boats, barges, ships, and other watercraft go by, as well as birds etc... We find it to be a peaceful...
