This has got to be the WORST Houston post office branch as far as customer service, and losing packages! For the past three years, they have lost several of my packages during the holidays, always saying, "It was delivered", when they clearly hadn't been, constantly giving me the runaround until they "found" it all of the sudden. I live in a small apartment, so I would hear a knock on the door, but they don't knock; they just leave the pink slip on the door. This last time (12/20), my neighbor told me it was a MAN who attempted to deliver, he refused to let her hold the package for me, and she said he left WITH the package. I was told to call at 7 a.m. to speak with the carrier, only to be told by an obviously annoyed and huffy Caroline Lamb (Land?) that the carriers don't come in til 8:30am, and rudely told to call back then. When I asked her why I was told to call this early, she yelled at me that she didn't know, and hung up the phone. I called back at 8:30, and I was told by a Ms. Peters that a man named Jenkins was the carrier, only to be told by Jenkins that it was a WOMAN who had attempted the delivery, and that she wasn't there today to ask what she did with it. Then I was told by Ms. Peters that maybe a woman had taken his shift, but my neighbor insists it was a man who came to my door. So, they aren't even in the same book, much less on the same page! Ms. Peters wasn't rude, just didn't seem to know how to handle the situation in an effective and timely manner (she did say she'd just started working there, so I'm giving her the benefit of the doubt). She called me back to say that the package had been found; it had been put on the wrong shelf (or bin), and by the time she went back to look again, Jenkins had already taken it and put it by his station. Thanks so much, Jenkins, for letting her know you had found it first... NOT!!! I was on the phone with these people on and off for three freakin' hours before they were able to locate my package! The only truly competent person I spoke with at all in the last two days was a woman named Shirley. She was on top of it, trying to find Ms. Peters for me again, so I could make sure she held the package there for me, reassuring me that she would get the message to her. I wasn't too reassured, so she kindly offered to look for her while I was on hold. Turns out that Ms. Peters hadn't heard the page for my phone call. The only reason I gave this place 2 stars was because of the helpful Shirley! So, if you have to talk to anyone there, talk to Shirley or Ms. Peters, and avoid Caroline at all costs! That woman, and this branch, needs to...
Read morestaff are rude, ignorant, and lazy. USPS had lost partial of my international package, my friend shipped 17 Chinese books to me and i only received 13 books, 1 of the book is even in English. i called 1800ASKUSPS 5 times and all representative told me that as long as the seller at other country file a claim against the loss, i only have to take my package to my local post office for inspection; that's also what's on the claim letter that the seller filed. all USPS representative i can stop by at the local post office whenever i can and asked them to file the damage report and..........
Last Friday i rushed because there is at lease one hours driver away from my work to this post office, i was holding 13 books and wait in line, when is finally my turn i asked the lady that i need your to do the inspection for me so my friend at Hong Kong can file the damage claim, the lady asked a staff name Joe, Joe told me that if i want to file a damage claim i will have to file it at US, and the lady said "WE DON"T CARE ABOUT OTHER COUNTRY", and Joe even said "you said there was 17 books in the package, how would i know you didn't took some books out and saying you lost some books", i was like WTH, your lose my stuffs and you are pointing at my nose saying i'm lying, and by saying WE DON"T CARE ABOUT OTHER COUNTRY i can take it as discrimination. I told the lady and Joe that what the USPS phone representative told me that i only need to do the inspection, i even confirm that with 2 different representative, but they still saying that i need to file a claim at US and told me to leave my package in their store. So i left and call USPS again, an other representative said that her manager is going to email the local manager so i can just take my package for the inspection, and he/she should call me Monday.
Today is Monday and i still haven't received the call, so i called 1800 number AGAIN and asked them to give me a direct number so i can contact the local office directly. I called asked to speak with the manager and the lady said "WE DON"T HAVE A MANAGER", than she transfer me to someone else and that lady just continuously told me i have to file a claim online, and they don't do damage report for years. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT FOR THE SIZE OF THE USPS STORE, THERE IS NOT EVEN ONE PEOPLE DO THE DAMAGE REPORT??!!!!!
I'm going to call USPS AGAIN and ask them if there is anyway for me to do the inspection somewhere else since this post office staff is totally not useful, helpful, and being incredibly rude, if i can change my local post office i will...
Read moreWe all know there is generally a wait at USPS Branches, we all know this, sadly mailing items and the process of it all isn't quick. . so with that said, I expected a little wait. When I approached the woman who was going to help me she greeted me kindly and I stated I just needed new keys for a CBU (Cluster Box) as I just moved and the house was sitting vacant for two years. I came prepared, I had my leasing/rental contacts, valid ID, payment, and presented all these to her, and joked that I came prepared and tried to make it easy for her (she appreciated that statement) She popped the info in the computer, collected my payment and told me to keep my receipt as I'll need to show it when I pick up my keys. She was so confused why the system did not print a receipt for me -- I told her I selected e-mail only on the prompts and I heard the buzz on my phone and checked, it was the email receipt from USPS, I told her, I got it and I am good unless you needed a copy, she said nope, Im good... I thanked her and went on my way. She mentioned they'd call me to pickup the keys, she said normally a week I believe (Honestly, she may not have mentioned a time) About 2 weeks went by and on the 3rd week (I was NOT in a hurry for these keys, or MAIL for that matter, half of it is junk, right? LoL It's 2021, electronic baby!) Anyway, 3 weeks go by, I call ASKUSPS and speak to a lovely lady who understood that I did not get a call or receive my keys yet for my box, she informed me she can send in a ticket to that post office and I said yes, lets do that becuase It's hard for me to go in and wait at the post office at times (especially when it's 97 degrees out in Houston. Not about that. She put in the ticket, gave me a conf. number and 2 days later the local office called me and gave me the scoop what was going on, she told me the person who does the keys was on vacation and the keys are ready for me, she apologized that they dropped the ball a bit one this one and internally since it seemed they did not have someone stepping in to handle these specific requests (they don't receive many of them anyway so I can see how this kind of gets not the highest priority. All is good though. Great service and it didn't take much hassle to get...
