B&D Seafood restaurant LLC — Local services in Houston

Updated to 3 stars based purely on the fact that the owner or someone has replied to my previous one star review. It’s only based on the food my wife and I ate and the price for said food. Fried Catfish w/fries and special fried rice. The fish… where do I begin. It was not good. Rubbery and not the consistency of quality fish. It was breaking off stringy… that’s the best way I can describe it. I am not picky at all!!! If I pay for it… I’m eating it. I had to stop and throw it away. The rice was good. Sticky rice but nothing special. It was gourmet compared to the fish. Total was $37. Nope. Not wanting to try other food there and take a chance on wasting more money. I was very happy to see a seafood place open right around the corner from us but for the quality of food and the price… 3 stars. Formerly 1… but at least the business took the time to inquire...

Purchased almost $60 worth of blue crabs yesterday and when we went to cook them they reeked of ammonia. We couldn’t even eat them. I called today to notify them and the wife was very dismissive (as always) and basically said oh well I don’t know what to tell you. I will never shop here again. I’ve spent a lot of money at this place and that seems to be the only time they are nice- when you are spending money. If you’re having an issue they don’t care. The seafood is clearly old. Never again. The wife has always been rude as if she’s not running a business. She always acts as if she has an attitude whenever a customer comes in. Even still, I always purchased from them but after receiving old seafood AND being dismissed I am done with this place. I called and spoke with the wife to make sure they had #2 crabs at $3.99/lb before my husband drove 30 minutes to get there and she assured me that they had them. My husband arrived only for her to tell him #1 only at $8/lb. I called her back and all she said was "no more, no more" and hung up in my face. The wife is always rude to black customers and I feel she is racist. Her husband has always been nice, but the wife is the face of the business and her attitude is horrible.
