This place is horrible! I took my two children to the Aquatic center at 6:15pm on a Tuesday(the facility was suppose to remain open until 8pm). It wasn't that busy and primarily consisted of parents with younger children that day. It cost $32 for the three of us and as soon as we paid the admission the lifeguards blew the whistle for adult swim only. This lasted for 15 min, so we had to wait until 6:30 before we could even enter the water. The splash pad was closed and my kids were not able to do any of the other attractions in the park due to their age. At 6:30 we were finally able to get into the pool, and we swam for literally 5 min, and unfortunately an adult had a nose bleed in the pool and they shut the main pool down at 6:35. They made an announcement over the PA that they would be closing the pool until 7pm! Both of my kids (10 and 6) were upset and I went to the front desk to request a refund. They explained that they did not have a refund policy and the pool would reopen at 7. At 7pm we were finally able to get into the main pool, we swam for 15 min, then they blew the whistle again for adult swim at 7:15. I am not exaggerating when I say that not a single person was in any of the pools at this time because everyone was there with small children. At 7:30 we were once again able to get back into the pool, and at roughly the same time they made an announcement that the facility would be closing in 10 min. They had everyone out of the pools 7:40 and closed early. What was suppose to be a fun outing for me and my children turned into an absolutely frustrating experience that cost $32 for about ~30 min of actual swim time! I am beyond disappointed with the facility and the lack of common sense of the staff. This was not a good value, and an was a horrible...

NOT ACCOMEDATING TO SPECIAL NEEDS. Every single thing my 6 year old autistic child attempted he was yelled at or I was. There was no direction given by any staff anywhere across the park except when someone wanted to tell us no. I have a very well behaved child, who litterly was excluded from enjoying EVERYTHING except the zero entry pool.
This pool requires children to be labeled via a colored necklace, they could easily add a color for those with disabilities to be identified.
Its alot to go into but to do litterly anything fun here your child under the age of 12 must pass a swim test.... My child is tall enough to surpass all of the height signs, wears a life jacket at all times, and can not swim a long distance in the water by himself. I dont think its fair to exclude children from practically an entire water park when their parent is there to supervise them entirely.
In our family we dont like to blast our diagnosis and use it as an excuse and I was forced to tell my child he cant participate in anything he desired because the test they would want him to take is impossible for him.
I understand keeping the mass safe and why they have their rules in place, but as a family oriented business they should understand that some kids litterly cannot do that, and those kids shouldn't be punished from enjoying the park for their lack of ability.
We both left in tears, and I doubt we will return.
Vandailas indoor rec is very special needs friendly for others looking for...
Read moreThis was our first time visiting this pool, and honestly our experience was WAY better than expected! We weren't really expecting the "residents only day", which was kind of bummer, but we came back the next day and it was amazing! This pool is beautifully set up for children, which you don't find very often. The kid's area with the slides was super fun for my five year old. The smaller pool area was fun for my two year old, and both kiddos LOVED the splash area. The lifeguards are also some of the best I've seen! They are super attentive and seem to genuinely look out for the safety of all customers. The "point" system is extremely helpful in identifying those violating safety rules or needing help. As someone who has had a previous injury in a pool, this would have been very helpful for the lifeguards on duty to have utilized instead of the chaos that unfortunately occurred. All staff were very friendly, informative, and attentive, and the pool itself was very fun for the kiddos. I definitely recommend and will be back!!
My only complaint is the way adult swim is ran. Every other pool I've been to allows the children to remain the kids' pool but are just required to leave the lap pool and big slides. It seems a bit "anti-family" to force children out of every single body of water...
