We are experienced motorhomers who have travelled to many parks and locations throughout the years. We live locally and wanted to stay at this park due to some remodel work being done in our residence.||||Our 11 day stay was not a pleasant experience. We wrote the owners of the park an email describing our haphazard and frustrating stay that they were clearly responsible for, but did not care enough about their guest's experience at their park, nor were professional enough to respond. Taking our money was a priority, though. ||||This is the actual email:||||Dear Sir(s): ||||My name is XXXX XXXX and have been a guest at your rv facility since September 12, 2022 and am reserved until September 23rd. Since my arrival 3 days ago, two of those days we have been without water until 5:00pm. What I do not understand is the need to shut down the rv park's water when the water leak issue was within the separate system of the mobile home park. It is your plumbing contractor, your business, but my inconvenience. ||||This morning we were notified the electricity would be shut down from 10:00pm to 5:00am due to maintenance from SCE. My 45' motorhome is an all electric coach, which also includes an all electric refrigerator/freezer and toilet. I have a generator, but with everyone using their generator, it will be difficult to sleep tonight with the loud noise from all of the generators in use. I called SCE to inquire why they are shutting the electricity down on such short notice, and they informed me customers (that would be you) were notified two weeks ago of this planned shut down. Why wasn't I informed of this shut down by your company since it was known I had paid reservations during this time period? I could have chosen to spend my eleven days elsewhere. ||||Clearly I am very upset. Your company has not even offered a discount/compensation for the unnecessary inconvenience caused. ||||Please advise. ||||Regards, ||||XXXX (714) 612-XXXX||||I am giving this campground two stars based on (1) proximity to the beach, and (2) friendliness and helpfulness of the office staff (Maya and Nichole) who went over and above trying to accommodate us, although their hands are clearly tied while attempting to manage this park. If you want an exceptional stay for yourself and your family, Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort is just a few miles...
Read moreVery disappointed and frustrated in our stay at Waterfront RV Park. We checked in late, set up and went to sleep. We woke up at 630am the next morning (we have a 1year old and 3year old) to find small black ants crawling on us in our beds, on the walls, floors, EVERYWHERE. Upon further investigation outside we found ants everywhere on the grounds, fences and perimeters. My husband found the closest home depot and bought a ton of ant killer to put both inside and around the perimeter of our trailer. I was not thrilled with this as our baby is crawling all over the ground and puts everything in her mouth, but we had no choice. I emailed front desk marking my email as Urgent in hopes to connect once the office opened. We had tickets purchased for Disneyland that day and were meeting our parents who flew from Canada. My dad just finished his cancer treatment and we wanted to celebrate together. We were supposed to meet them at 8am but weren't able to reach Disney until 11:30 due to the situation we had. The manager didn't respond to my email, so I stopped into the office on our way out at 11am, she said we were the second complaint that morning and that she is aware of the situation. They had someone spray a few weeks ago, but the ants just came back, she suggested that I should go buy ant killer and told me that most guests take care of the ants themselves. I expressed my frustration with this response and she agreed she wouldn't want to wake up to ants in her bed either, she recommended I forward the photos I have of the ants all over the trailer and she would forward to the owner. There was no follow up, no offer to move us to a new space, reimburse us for the 40$ of ant killer, nothing! The park itself is a run down parking lot. The only positives are the location being on the highway which you cross over to the beach...
Read moreWe stayed a week here. The location is fantastic! My teens could bike right across the PCH to Huntington Beach. Downtown Huntington was a nice stroll or bike ride along the beach path for Surf City Tuesdays, dinning, shopping, the pier, etc. Newport/Balboa were a quick 20min. drive down the PCH. 10min. drive north on the PCH was the dog beach and Bolsa Chica Reserve. The site was average width and just asphalt and just barely fit our 36' trailer hitch to bike rack on back. If you have an additional vehicle you can pay for an extra parking space along the east side of property. We didn't use the pool or game room but nice to have on property if you're bored or wanting to meet other campers in the park. The bathrooms were pretty sketchy so we only occassionally showered in them, where normally we shower in the campground showers only-just a little run down and not the cleanest (reason for 3 stars). Office was very nice. Their check-in area could use reconfiguring bc with 2 rigs and one stuck out in the road 3's a crowd in their front office area. Quiet time after 10pm is strictly enforced, even reminded if you're outside your camper after 10pm chatting. There are a handful of long term residents but nicely kept. Across Newland is a power plant so that wasn't aesthetic but Huntington is filled with oil drills as well so kinda part of the landscape of the area I guess. We booked in March (the earliest they'd allow) for July so book early, fills quick bc...
