Great park to spend time with the family. Lots of benches and sitting areas, along with grassy areas as well. There isn't a lot of shaded areas so the summer season might be a bit hot if you aren't in the shade. The pond is large and there are lots of birds and ducks. Fishing is allowed here but we haven't seen a lot of success when trying to fish. This area of Hurricane tends to be windy (hence the town's name) so be aware of that when you head to the park. Grandpa's Pond Park is definitely a great place to visit if you want to play, see some nature, and spend good time with your family. It's got a bit of everything...

Thats why I had fun but let me say, sometimes its hard to go fishing as long as i want because we have a child and a few people that dont really fish come with us each weekend to quail creek. Here though, there is picnic tables, fire pits, a play ground, bathrooms, and a walking trail. Plenty of fun things...
