Hurricane Dog Park — Attraction in Hurricane

Revised The name should be officially changed to Goathead Park. About 1/4 of the park is usable, while everything off the lawn is a nightmare for your dog. We stopped going a year ago because they were so bad my dog would get stuck and I would need to run over, pick the punctures weeds out of his paws and carry him back to the lawn. After that I spent a few minutes at the trash can picking them out of the soles of my shoes.

Mayor, get some chickens in there for a while to eat those things, then spray spray spray! Otherwise the weeds are just creeping further into the lawn and nothing will be usable.

This place is pretty well kept up and a good place for the dogs to run. There are quite a few owners that fail to pick up their dog’s mess despite there being bags available most of the time. This dog park is really nice, it is very specious although some of the locals don't take care of their dogs or don't train them and so sometimes the dogs can be a bit unruly, I understand that dogs are dogs but some basic discipline is nice so everyone can enjoy. Other than that, it us a fun place for the dogs to unwind and let loose. Another heads-up is, for some reason, a lot of locals here are very cold and distant, if you are here and someone pulls up but stay in their car and watches you, don't worry, they will either turn around and leave or go into the other park for their big dog to play on the small dog park haha I guess they just don't trust their dogs to play with another dog but whatever the case, just have fun. Great Dog Park with 2 different gated areas for small or larger dogs. Both have natural terrain and a gazebo for the paw-rents to sit at and enjoy their coffee. Stopped here numerous times while visiting from our cabin to Zion. There are lots of nice locals to chat with and easy to locate from the main road. Loved that there was available water for my girl to drink from and that the area had both grass, desert, and a creek/rock area for her to explore.
