Been holding off going to this place because I have Baz. But we went in February in the offseason late in the afternoon. The parking lot was empty I think there were a couple of campers across the lake. The only other people that were visiting were apparently dog owners.. Seems there are a few that come late in the afternoon and let their dogs run in the water and chase balls and have fun. It never occurred to me that this is probably what goes on all during the summer as well. We have a few beaches in Washington State where all the dogs do is go chase balls in the water. So despite me parking far away from everybody else and having Baz literally walking like a drunk driver dragging me all the way down to the beach, I asked if it was okay that dogs were off leash and they all said they do it all the time, as long as there's not crowds or too many people around and all the dogs are friendly and polite. So I took him off and he immediately went down and started playing with two others and it was such a joy to see them play in the water and hang out. It's been a while since he's gotten a lot of interaction with other dogs. Now having said all that what a beautiful place. You would never know it was man-made. It's like being in the Caribbean in the desert. I didn't get to try out the bathroom facilities or anything else we just hung around the water but I have to say I think we were also the last ones to leave the parking lot and it was dark. I'm going to check the camping schedule because it seems pretty desolate there right now maybe me and Baz will go camp. The water is gorgeous and I can't wait for it to get warm enough for me to go swimming in it as well cuz I really want to test out those...

The park was easy to find. It is located north of St. George Utah near Hurricane. There is pavement all the way including interior roads. Signage is adequate. Check in was efficient and friendly. The rules are fairly basic and Mister Ranger patrols to make sure they are followed..

Our site, 16, was a pull thru that was plenty long enough for our Coach and Towed. Services (30 amp and water only) were to the left side. Distancing is great even for a rural park. Each site has an aluminum table on a concrete patio under a sun shade. There was also a fire pit. Our site was flat and even. Overall the park was clean and tidy .

There is NO park included wifi or cable TV. We did find a few OTA channels. Satellite will not be difficult. We did not use the washrooms or showers but we checked and found them clean.

There are OHV trails from the park as well as OHV rentals, Boats, Personal Water Craft, Kayak and Canoe rentals on site.

There are no restaurants or stores within walking distance but just a short drive away you can find food, shopping and convenience stores in Hurricane. We found this park to be a great place to relax and enjoy ourselves. Jeeping the sand was awesome We paid $46.60 per night including tax and we feel we received fair value. We will be back if in...

Solid place for a family to visit! Went here from a friend's recommendation and was not disappointed! 2 kids, wife, and self visit this place on Saturday and Sunday. Both times, there was plenty of parking and enough spots along the beach / sand line to have our own spot! (Tent and chairs). Water is shallow for about 40-50 feet out from the sand line (this lets our younger kids play freely). Sand is a red and fine and when wet makes an awesome mud for sandcastles. I didnt visit the cliffs or the camping spots but this place based on observation from the sandline is great for boats and jetskiis. I say that because the water was calm and people were just flowing over the water smoothly. Lastly, its hot. I dont normally burn but I came back extra crispy this trip. I had the sunblock and funstuff but the sun was relentless. Also, people talked about a swimmers itch. I was worried but apparently thats a luck of the draw. Our party (of about 12) didnt experience anything and that was a concern for me as i read a bunch of reviews that discussed it. So, not sure. Anyhow, family and pet friendly, worth the drive, awesome staff, and great experience....
