Middlefork Savanna Forest Preserve — Attraction in Illinois

This is truly a fantastic place of incredible ecological value. Substantial plant and animal biodiversity. Great sceneries. However, the main trail is open to bikers who often do not respect the preserve -- they play loud music as if this were a park! This must stop. There are many parks in this area--go there. Ok place. I’m sure I would’ve liked it more sure my dogs, but they weren’t allowed on many of the paths- which I understand because it was to protect uncommon habitats and nesting birds- consequently we were limited to a bike path. Pretty place with a really interesting variety of environments. The one thing I have to mention is I came home with so many ticks on my dogs and found one of my leg the next day...
