Great campground with paved parking pads and gravel area around fire pits. Electric only at sites several water hyrants around some sites close enough to hook to for a refill. Most campers are RV trailer small and large plus several 5th wheel trailers and motorhomes. There are long pads for larger units and some short pads only good for smaller trailer and class c motororhomes. so choose wisely if reserving. I only think maybe two pull throughs. All sites are reservable so plan ahead as they are usually booked on weekends. We came on a rainy weekend. Probably why there were some sites NOT reserved. Yes a campground surrounded by river water will have bugs. Come prepared with screens and bug repellant. Lots of standing water arround camp sites and on roads, is to be expected.after.days of rain. Photo attached. My four star rating because I believe there should be several First come or walk-in sites. Reservable only camps have people reserve just in case some times then must change mind and no show. Seems some sites go unused even when camp is booked.

Depending on the site you choose, you could have an amazing view from your campsite. We chose wisely and reserved site 60 which is right on the water (see photo). There were a few cons, such as: sites being very close together, outhouses are clean but smell worse than most and unless you've been there before or read a bunch of reviews you could get stuck at a viewless site. I recommend going to one of the shower houses if you need to use the restroom and definitely look at the site map and stay in one of the sites to the north.

Outstanding campground! Be sure to bring 2 things: 1) PLENTY of mosquito protection, and 2) outdoor lighting for nighttime (it gets pretty dark out there). Otherwise, the amount of wildlife you see is off the charts! Turtles, cranes, rabbits....we even saw a fox! This campground is very well maintained, from the shower house to the bathroom, to the sites themselves. We sprayed ourselves with OFF at least twice a day and we lit citronella candles. I saw mosquitoes, but I didn't get bit even once!

This quickly became one of our favorite campgrounds and we've stayed multiple times. It's right on the Mississippi River, providing for some great sunset viewing and campfires. The sites are closer together and lack the greenery between for privacy that we prefer. They are either gravel or concrete and gravel, depending on which loop you're on and all are level and in good shape. The campground is clean and in good repair overall. There are railroad tracks on both sides of the river, but they are far enough away to provide that perfect "train in the distance" sound. Our favorite thing to do while camping is to sit and relax and enjoy the quiet and this place allows for...

I came and camped in a tent on 6/7. I was woke up by a guy on a lawn mower who had absolutely no respect for the people camping there. I understand he had a job to do but he came within literal inches of my tent with his lawn mower at 8 in the morning kicking a dust cloud of sand and dirt in my tent that layered me and my kids. There was no reason he needed to mow that close to my tent, he was literally so close he about hit my tent all the way around. It was the upmost disrespectful thing I’ve seen in awhile he had no respect for the campground or the people who pay money to camp there. Have a talk...
