Saint Meinrad Archabbey — Attraction in Indiana

We had a fantastic visit to St Meinrad Archabbey and had a wonderful unscheduled tour by Molly, who was extremely knowledgeable and great with the kids. It can be challenging to navigate the enormous campus, there wasn’t an obvious welcome center or visitors reception -that we found- so we ended up wandering around until we met Molly. I do believe this is the most beautiful place on earth! Can't wait to come back again. Our Retreat last week was awesome! I first came here when I was in the area at a work conference. Loved it so much i came back for morning prayer and Mass the next two days. Later I got to come down as a chaperone with two of my sons on a school trip. My recommendation is don’t go to a mass if you have young kids. Even if the staff at the visitor center invite you. The grounds are lovely and the building is beautiful. Most everyone was extreme polite.

The church echoes so if you go and your baby makes normal happy infant noises you will be asked to leave. (Which is okay. Just personally mortifying even if you drove an hour to get clothes and got up early to make it on time.) Go to the Lincoln Boyhood Memorial 10 minutes...
