Nice paved path along the river with complete grade separation from the street. Spotted several birds including a grey heron flying just above the river. Unfortunately where I tried to access the trail there was no connection to Minnesota and Morris streets. So I needed to hop over a guard rail and then descend a short but thick grassed hill and that could be an issue for those with bikes or mobility issues. Maybe there is better access points but I wish the design had better connected with the road network yet that of course comes with increased costs. One big warning, despite showing a dashed green line on Minnesota Street and inferring that to mean a bicycle friendly road I would highly discourage its use and therefore please just stick to this path in this part of town. Zero shoulder, no sidewalk and cars and large trucks with no interest in giving other users one inch of space. I look forward to a return visit to the trail as it looks like it covers a great distance but absolutely am worried about how to safely access. Sadly the ghost bike installation for Andrew Talbott just a bit west on W Morris Street confirms the danger to cyclists when riding outside of this trail.

Such a beautiful and peaceful place to go for hiking. Many trails to wander on. It's always a great adventure!
