Whitebreast Beach — Attraction in Iowa

Place is a hit or miss for tent camping, some spots are not suitable at all. We reserved a camping site and when we got there it was very small, had a large pile of debris right in the middle of it and a dangerous hill ending in the lake. We saw other spots that were equally terrible and they are still placed in their website as being ok for tents. Besides this, the camping volunteer that was parked right in front of our site yelled loudly and very impolitely at my 9 year old son with ADHD because my puppy got loose for a few minutes (a non-agressive dog). There was NOBODY at the camping sites close to us and his reaction was completely over the top. After that I felt so humiliated I left two days earlier. In addition to all this, there are no walk in paths for fishing. In summary may be an ok place if you have an RV and a boat. Still, the beach was not impressive at all. Do not recommend to anyone. Honestly there are much better places...

Such a lovely small beach. Didnt go all the way in because they said the bacteria levels were high, though other people did. Sandy beach but there are rocks, bring sandals. Nice and breezy and almost no bugs. Water was a great temperature but the bottom is slimy. They have bathrooms and footbaths, which is great to rinse afterwards. I didnt swim but i put my feet in and had a lovely...

2nd year we have camped here. Just wish so many people didn't reserve just weekends. Ruins it for people that want to stay a week... I should say we require a longer parking pad...so that is why we have difficulty down here...
