I really enjoyed this course. It's a pretty straightforward course, throwing areas are pretty risk-free as far as water and deep forest are concerned so this is the least worried I've been about losing discs. I wouldn't say the throwing areas are wide open, there's just the right amount of tree involvement but you're not throwing in the middle of a forest with basically only trees in front of you like some other courses. This course had a good flow to it, was open enough for amateurs and as long as you can keep the disc low you can really maneuver around this one really well. Water in play on only a couple of holes out of 18. The course does hold quite a bit of water, if you go to play after it rains it hasn't been hot to evaporate the water off, there are quite a few standing water puddles all over the place. But I think this is my favorite course I've played out of quite a few, it feels just right as far as how a disc golf course I imagine...
Read moreDallas's oldest disc golf park(not to be confused with 1st disc golf park which was skyline. Skyline eventually got moved to a different location in Garland and renamed B.B. Owen.) definitely never disappoints. Decent mix of long and short holes with a few water hazards, slight elevation changes even some narrow gap shots that must be hit to have a chance a birdie. Beautiful park in itself for walking your dog or even riding around on your horse. This park has a basketball court petting zoo as well as a community greenhouse and the grounds always seem to be well kept. I do recommend bringing bug spray for the mosquitos as it does have a creek Splitting the park in half and sometimes the grounds can be a little muddy and saturated after a hard rain. This is definitely a great representation of...
Read moreOK, not 5 stars, but definitely better than 4...this is the oldest disc golf course in DFW, tho it started as a 9 hole, and expanded to full quite some time ago...in my opinion it is the prettiest mostly-open course in DFW...lots of beautiful, mature trees, but most holes are open enuf to offer many options of attack...there's a mostly pretty creek running thru the middle of the course, with 3 water-carry holes where the water can be avoided if you so desire...it is a city park, and also well above average in that department, but pedestrian traffic very rarely holds up play in any way...it is one of my favorite courses in all of the DFW area, and I highly recommend...
