Read moreWe visited Spices of India Kitchen on August 30, 2025, during our trip from Nashville, TN, and it was nothing short of a nostalgic culinary delight. We came to know about this restaurant from the YouTube channel Tint&Travel where they gave a very good review about this restaurant.Being Malayalees living in Tennessee, we deeply miss authentic Kerala cuisine and this place delivered exactly what our hearts (and taste buds) have been craving for years.
We tried the Malabar Dum Biryani, Kerala porotta, Beef Roast, Fish Nirvana, and Appam and every single dish was absolutely delicious. The flavors were so authentic and perfectly balanced that even though we were completely full, we couldn’t leave a single bite behind. It felt like we were back home in Kerala for a meal!
We really wanted to try their famous “Chatti Choru”, but learned that it’s served only on Sundays. So here we are again today (August 31, 2025 – Sunday), eagerly returning to experience that as well, before heading back to Nashville tomorrow.
We also had the pleasure of meeting Jobby (the owner) and Vishnu, who were incredibly warm and welcoming. They took the time to share the story behind the restaurant, and explained how the Fish Nirvana gets its amazing taste and aroma. Their passion and dedication truly shine through in the food and the experience. And to top it all off, they surprised us with a complimentary dessert to-go as well!
We are already looking forward to our next visit. Thank you, Jobby and Vishnu, for bringing a slice of Kerala to Dallas and making us feel at home. Wishing you continued success , keep serving that...
Read moreI came from north Dallas to this restaurant based on reviews. I can't believe I wasted my time. My friend and I wanted to order a thali plate (Kerala meal). Our waitress told us that was not available. So, we ordered fish fry, chicken fry, goat curry, and sambar. About 10 minutes after we ordered, the waitress asked us if we wanted rice with our meal. I asked if there was any other options and she said no. So, I asked her why she wanted to know about the rice if that's the only option. She had no answer, so we told her that we would like rice. The goat curry, fish fry, and chicken fry came out with the rice. We ate the food. Nothing was spectacular. When we were almost done, she came out with the sambar. I told her that we were done eating and no longer wanted the sambar. About this time, the chef came out with a thali plate for another customer! I asked the chef why the waitress told me it wasn't available. He stumbled over his words and made useless excuses. We paid and left. The food quality and customer service was well below acceptable. I will not go back. If you are in North Dallas, go to Kerala Kitchen or Sabu's Restaurant. Don't waste your time or money at Spices of India. It's a poor excuse of...
