The Riverton, LLC — Attraction in Iuka

I had family rent the venue for the weekend Friday-Sunday for $4,000. In my opinion, WAY to expensive for what you get.We had so many bad experiences throughout the wedding night.It sprinkled during the reception while everyone was eating dinner. The owner stopped the grooms sister and told her to round up men to bring the plastic chairs in and grabbed a groomsmen by the shirt telling him to go outside. By the time the chairs were brought in, the sprinklinwas over. We kept hearing from the owners how much money everything cost($10,000 for chairs and $100,000 a year to run). Its extremely unprofessional to bring up cost with your customers and their guests. If they were so worried about their equipment, they should have hired hands to move things in and out. All night the owners sat in the corner watching everything. All other weddings I've ever been in or attended, the owners give you privacy and come back the next day or when the rental time is over to lockup and clean. They stayed the WHOLE time watching everything. At 10:25, keep in mind it was rented out until midnight, they start taking the table clothes off and trying to empty out the place. They eventually come outside and tell everyone they need the tables we are all sitting at, its 11:20. The groom mentioned we could just bring everything in tomorrow and clean up. She said it had been raining all day and would ruin the chairs/tables. They were plastic rubbermaid tables and plastic traditional wedding chairs, waterproof, and it had been 'sprinkling' and we on the covered patio along with the tables and chairs. They were fine and would have been until the next day. I bring this up and my brother-in-law mentioned that many bad reviews would be left tomorrow for the unprofessional experience. The owner then proceeded to throw 2 chairs down and get in his face and say, "well I'm a grown man", threatening him. It was a horrible experience and I have several friends planning weddings right now and they will the last place I recommend. My husband & I got married there this past weekend & it was perfect! The owners, Pam & Hank, are so awesome to work with & they do anything to help you. They are also easy to make friends with, so having them there to help & hangout with was so fun for us! The venue comes at a very reasonable price & honestly the best priced option for all of the things included in the price. They were also very responsive & understanding when I needed to go up to the venue several times to get an idea for how I wanted it set up! Overall, we left as husband & wife & with two new friends! Cannot recommend The Riverton enough! The place is gorgeous and basically a blank canvas for you to make your own! Pam and Hank were so helpful between responding quickly, suggesting vendors, bussing people to and from cars/cabins, helping move some stuff, and even helped coordinate with our hired coordinator!
