Great way to spend a few hours with the family. Quaint little village with lots of history and neat things to look at. It was nice and peaceful. Self-guided tour, but the staff in the gift shop and restaurant gave us friendly and excellent service. It is a bit of walking and did not have ramps available in a couple of areas (we had to pick up the stroller and carry up some stairs twice) but mostly easily accessible. Prices in the restaurant, village and gift shop were all reasonable. There is no menu, its a set family style meal and it's all you can eat. The food was fresh and delicious, like it came straight out of a Granny's kitchen. Definitely would love to go back.

Amazing place to transport back in time to see what life was like in frontier towns. Several buildings are authentic or parts are authentic from old towns in the area. Call ahead to find when they are providing demonstrations as you will be able to see people performing some of the trades. Even without the performances, I loved this destination.

We visited this Museum a week ago. It has small indoor display and the real treasure is once you go out to the interior where the village has been setup. There are many period establishments set from moving from the real world. It provides loads of information about the old times and lifestyle. This place stands out among many such museums across the country, because of its rustic setup and some very special displays; one being the Lino-type machine. I wish such artefacts are preserved with greater care as these are invaluable.

The buggy barn is another star attraction with expansive display of various carriages with noteworthy detailing.

We spent about 3 hours at this place and carried a souvenir of dogwood painted pallet.

It is a mesmerizing place for those who love to go back in times and value the culture and heritage of...

We had a wonderful time at the museum and restaurant. I was there with my husband and 2 young children. We did the self guided walk through on a Sunday and absolutely loved the village. It was so neat. My daughter is a big fan of Little House on the Prairie and she especially was excited to see so many things from the past. The gift shop was very interesting with artifacts and handmade items. My daughter picked out a bonnet to complete her Laura Ingalls experience. The Pickett House restaurant was a neat and fun experience as well. We all loved the food and service was exceptional. We will definitely be back,...
