We had our wedding at the lodge this summer & the power to our DJ’s outlet went out during our reception. We went with it, understanding that things happen. Everything was back up & running after she reset elsewhere in the venue after about 20 minutes & then the power to entire building goes out. No AC, no running water in the restrooms, no lighting (and no DJ, again) for 45 minutes! I’m 100% dissatisfied at this point as this is my wedding day & I’ve paid a good amount of money to have my event here & there’s no backup generator or fixing the issue quickly. Guests left because of the heat. No one could give us an explanation & our entire wedding timeline was shifted due to this. Being an ethical person I understand that not everything is about me & that things happen but I’m baffled at the fact that no one reached out to my husband or myself regarding how this situation really threw off our day, our rental & the guest we invited. Our other vendors worked well given the situation here so I’m truly upset that our venue selection has not chosen to make things right with us.
I called the metro park office multiple times to discuss this matter, left messages & have never received a call back, an apology or acknowledgement for what happened during our time.
We have always been avid Scioto Grove park goers which is why we chose this beautiful venue for our wedding. To say that I’m disappointed with the outcome, is...

A group of us set off from the Upper Canoe/Kayak launch and paddled downstream for about 7 miles (around 2.5 hours) until we reached the ramp at Mackey Ford Wildlife area. The water was a bit low in some spots along the way, but we never had to carry our kayaks overland, which was such a relief! We even spotted an eagle soaring high in the sky, took a break at a sandbar to refuel, and finished the journey strong. I can't wait to come back after some rain to experience the stronger flow.
This place has a great open area right next to the river where you can spot all sorts of wildlife. If you're a nature lover, it's a must-visit! There's also an archery site 🏹 and plenty of shaded spots. I've tried the 3D archery and the regular target range here before, and both were really fun. But my favorite part is the hiking trails; they're so well-maintained! The campsites are absolutely perfect too. This has become my family's go-to spot for disconnecting from the hustle and bustle and immersing ourselves in nature. We'll definitely be back—this Metro park is one of our favorites! It's incredibly open and full of...
Read moreThis place is big and beautiful. My daughter saw a deer close up while driving in, she loved that. The playground is different, it's all net that you climb up to slides. One side is small and one side is big, so I keep my little ones on the small side. My kids fav is the swing though. It's like a big tire that they both can swing on at same time. We love to go fishing, and there are multiple ponds to try. We've only done one with a deck that is really nice cuz it's closest to the vehicles. There was a lot of algea on the water so it's not very clear, but there are LOTS of fish. And they are BIG. I've caught a couple different kinds of bass and blue gills, and a huge cat fish got away from us. A friend caught a big frog, and my bf caught a 50 pound snapping turtle that we couldn't even pull out of the water. Don't get in the water. Lol. We also saw a family of beavers. The wildlife is awesome. It has a patio area with shade to one side with picnic tables. And you can go all the way around the lake and fish. Other than the water not being clear cuz of moss, it's great. I will go back to hopefully catch a big one soon. I just hope someone...
